I have a buckmark that would love to be sporting one I just was turned off because of the water issue but just last night I had seen they now have attempted to fix it. I will have to keep a eye on them and see how they fair. I may need pick one up.
Love the gun.
Haven't had the opportunity in the last few years too shoot it much but I had (Dad needed it back) an old 1.5 to 5 Burris compact scope on it and was shooting 3/4 inch groups at 100yrds with it. (5 Shots). It really liked the hornady 240 xtp.
The recoil is surprising, not...
ya thats the best I can come up with out of stock and not cheap.
The photo doesn't really show enough detail to see if its something that could be easily made and made to work. It still works fine for now but some day maybe I can find a way to fix it.
I have a 788 in 44 mag and it never ejected just right if. Under range conditions I would rack the bolt easy and all was fine but if I quickly racked it like I would if I needed a follow up shot in the field, the spent casing would follow the bolt back under the action then just fall in the...
I think the new Buckmarks do have the magazine disconnect safety. So it can fire single shot without the mag in the old ones but not in the new. I would still use the mag because of the above reason.
There is a small pin in the grip that holds the spring when you take it apart. This made a small rattle in mine I put a small piece of string in with the pin no more rattle except the transfer bar of course.
I fell into a 44mag at the local shop. Love the gun. Doesn’t make it in the woods much but gets out every now and then. Surprisingly accurate. Dose anyone have any info on the gun like # made or SN range. This page will give the year but doesn’t break down by caliber. Rem 788 page
If you reload look up lil gun you may be surprised at what speeds you can get from a 4†tube. I have been able to hit 1400 with a 158 xtp with out showing pressures in my 4†GP100. This brings it above most loads in a 6â€. I still haven’t tried it on deer I’m just not comfortable in my...
I tried to change the main spring but was getting the light strikes with the CCI primer. The Winchester and Remington factory loads were fine. But because I prefer my reloads I had to go back to stock.
I do have a 10 lbs spring in the trigger return and between this the shooting and dry...
Here is a link to the marlin H&R forum with the twist rates for most of the NEF rifles. Same list is also found on the yahoo NEF group. Hopes this will help.

From what I have found, the hornet has a twist of 1in12 in the NEF. Same as the .223.
I have both the NEF and a Browning micro Hnter in the 22 Hornet. Eather one like a diet of the 40gr Vmax with 12r of Lilgun. The load is on thesoft side but that is what shot the best. Whos looking for extra...
Any one load their 357mag with Lilgun. I'm thinking of using a 158 Hornaday XTP. The hodgdon's states you can use 18grs of powder. Will I be able to burn all of this powder in my 4" ruger and not excessive flames coming out of the barrel.
I just got a GP100 4" this week. Love the gun. I was able to shoot it yesterday. I used factory 357mag PMC 125 was pleased with the results. Will do a lot better than I can at this time. I will be using it for my camping and backwoods fishing gun. Any good full power factory loads I should be...
The only 22 I have worn out was a old remington single shot. The part of the chamber that is notched for the extractor has worn down so fare that it causes a slight bulg in the fired case.
Don't forget about the Browning. I have the the micro-hunter in the hornet. I havet had the time I would have liked to work on loads, but have gotten down to 3\4 inch 5 shot at 100 yard with 40gr vmax and lilgun. I also ha a NEF that is a fare shooter of about 1 inch. They are both a lot f fun...
