I had both the defender and the Springfield Microcompact loaded for a short time. The basic pistols are clones of each other, with the Springfield being better outfitted with night sights and a light rail. In the end I kept the Defender because I felt it was a better concealed piece than the...
I have a Para 14-45 LTD in all stainless. It is a replacement for my Springfield Hi Cap that had a cracked frame. Springfield replaced that pistol with my choice of any 1911 they had in stock of about the same value of the hi cap. Very nice service from springfield. I ended up taking a loaded...
I have a Colt Defender that would fire once and jam every time. Not for a minute did I believe the Colt was junk. The extractor (MIM) was junk and the Wilson Combat bulletproof replacemant part was $29. I did the install myself, not exactly a drop in but pretty basic. Now I have a Defender that is...
The principal that applies is that anything I have for sale is undesirable and worth only a low ball take it or leave it from most "dealers". The funny thing is that those same dealers sell only rare and unfired examples in pristine condition. Funny how things work...I'd think it was a profit...
+1 on the RIA tactical. You will have a great shooting entry level 1911.The funny thing that everyone seems to forget is the original 1911's were designed to be reasonably priced military manstoppers with few frills.I'm of the opinion that the RIA is probably the best value 1911 made right...
Perfect reason to use a laser sight as a training tool for point shooting. Your brain seems to learn to tie the POI to the hand position over a short time of use. After that point shooting (with or without the laser) becomes much more natural and accurate, at least it worked that way for me! Chuck.

Buy it!! I love mine. Put a cheap red dot on it and have some fun.Easy to take apart and clean too.Just get a few extra recoil buffers (about $1.00 each) and replace them as they get beat up (every 2000 rds or so).
Check out the 1911.org site. They have a RIA representitive on the forum and get rave reviews. I like mine. The big plus for the RIA is that they are built using modern CNC machines.Makes for a great buy.I think the "some" that maintain the metallurgy is sub par are not qualified to make that...

I bought one of these at Murray Auto for $399 ($299 after $100 rebate). It is quiet, powerful and as good a deal as you will ever find on a generator. Yes I know what I'm talking about as I have been a RV'er for 30 years and have seen everything out there over...
