The Washington Post article I read said "Walmart will stop selling ammunition for military-style weapons..."

If I read that right then Walmart should no longer be carry any...

Linda Slocum has introduced HF3022
Contents:
-2 day waiting period on all firearm transactions
-Total ban on all private sales and transfers, including for inheritance, family...
Two thoughts.
1. I wonder if that new Heizer defense .223 hand cannon has anything to do with this.
2. Is .223 M855 out of a handgun barrel even capable of penetrating armor? Would that matter as an argument?
I wasn't going to hijack the ops thread any longer but that was essentially my thought as well. The whole idea operates on the wielder of the rifle standing static and not fighting back.
^This.
Get a magpul fore end and a couple rails. Put the rails where you want them, add accessories, and you're done! And you'll have a nice and clean setup too.
I did exactly this with my Palmetto Dissapator.
If someone grabs my rifle barrel I'm going to pull the trigger until they let go.
To answer the OPs question though, I've got a P-mag 40 in my AR.
If I take my handgun I take a spare 13 round mag with it making it 26 rounds total.
Give this a thorough read. It will help your decision immensely. The chapters are on the left.

To summarize:
.223/5.56 wont shoot through your entire house.
.223 is a good selection for home defense and interior use from a carbine platform. It's why most police...
I've got a Kris cutlery Scramasax that is a very nice looking blade. It comes naked though so you will have to dress the scabbard and do some finishing to the handle if you get one. I'm in t he process of doing mine right now. It's taking a while because I want it to look period authentic but...
As long as you don't use a ballistic tip you should have no problems. That is the same setup I use hunting deer here in Northern Minnesota and I've yet to experience any issues with the cartridge doing it's job if I do mine.
Oh. Now you've done it. You've gone and hurt my feelings.
He's aware, but it's his decision. Like I've said, I'm just the middle man. I told him I would help find parts, send him the information, and do the repair if I could. He doesn't have an account here and doesn't want one so I'm doing it...
Calm down orion.
Its my brother's gun so he gets to decide how he wants to go about repairing it. I've sent him the links you've all posted but since he just spent $250 getting his carry permit, $65 for a piece of mim steel may be a little out of his price range right now.
He wanted it to be...
How fortuitous! Thanks! Those are for a S&W 39 though. Mine is a 39-2 do the parts share commonality?
And holy smokes is that expensive for a safety..........
When I graduated high school my Dad passed his S&W 39-2 down to me. When my younger brother graduated I passed it down to him because he didn't own any guns at all and I figured that he would need a gun to defend himself wherever he decided to go to college.
He never carried it, but when he...
This is correct. I just re-learned this in my CCW renewal class last week.
Says the guy from Colorado. Hey! How's that mag ban working out for you all out there?
