I purchased 20 rounds of 165 grain black tip Canadian30-06 ammo dated from early 50s. I was wondering if this ammo would work in a garand or if it was for a different rifle. Dont really want to damage my garand.
Thanks,
Matt
thanks guys. turns out i read it wrong in the dark gun store. it wasn't a E it was a 3 and the 4 was a K. So it is K A 7 3. Korean surplus. Thanks anyway for my mistake.
Matt
At least you had target loads to shoot in the shotgun. If those hurt, put in some buckshot or slugs and see how they feel. Single shot shotguns are hard on shoulders.
I found some ammo with the headstamp A E 7 4 all 90 degrees apart. Any one know what this is? It was on garand clips and Im not sure if it was a 4 or not but it should be the date.
Thanks,
Matt
If you ever have to remove the mag cap in the field and have the retainer and spring shoot out on you, you will like the idea of dimples. Trust me I know.
Watch out for the Korean ammo if they have that. (I din't look at the website yet.) I believe that is Mildly corrosive. Maybe someone else knows more about it.
p-mags or usgi mags are your best bet. I also like C-products mags. Nearly everyone is sold out of mags right now, but they do turn up in classifieds often.
I've noticed a lot of places are out of mags. Everyone is buying them after the election, but there I found some.

I thought that it has been getting easier to get a permit. 3 years ago or so, I couldn't get a permit for the life of me. Last march they almost forced a application on me when I just wanted a purchase permit. It is still a shall issue state though.
I am also excited because this is the...
Being this sounds like a target rifle rather than a plinker, You should get a better trigger and handgrip. I wouldn't be worried about the chrome bolt or tactical charging handle unless you plan to use and abuse it alot.
Found What I was talking about. Says you can Fire in the roadway only. On page 42. You can hunt, but there isn't much room to move and lots of regulations.

You can't do that in SD. I believe they passed that law a few years back. Northwest Iowa should be pretty good expecially by the MN border and southern MN.
Hey, I'm just saying that in the dozen or so parks in my county, at least one of them could be open for hunting early. There isn't a shooting range in my county either. What am i supposed to do? Also no dove hunting in Iowa.
