Finally got around to taking a picture of my handguns today.
Two Norinco 1911s, a CZ SP-01, and CZ 75B SA. :) All customized and great shooters.
I actually feel pretty content with my collection now. I can't see any other handguns in the near future that I just MUST have. I'm sure that...
I bought a set of Ahrends grips for my chrome Norinco from Top Gun Supply because I was looking for a nice set of ebony ones. I picked the "tactical" pattern because it looked unique and before this all I had were the traditional double diamond pattern grips. I liked the feel and quality of the...
I bought this pistol a few months back from another THR member. It came with the Nowlin sights already installed and the chrome finish, as well as a McCormick trigger, slide stop, and thumb safety.
I took it to the range and had some fail to feeds...which (as crazy as it sounds) was fine by...
Hello fellow THRers....a bit of help needed!
I need to replace the slide arm extension on my Winchester 1300 Defender. However, there seems to be several sizes:

Do I need the 4...
So I've been shopping for a shotgun for the past few weeks, and was ready to lay down some cash for a new gun until I came across Texas Colt's ad in the classifieds here on THR, and wouldn't you know it, he was just down the way from me to boot. So I'm the new owner of his old 1300 (I borrowed...
So I recently sold a Springfield loaded 1911. I had replaced the FLGR setup with a GI plug and guide from Ed Brown, but I included the FLGR in the box when I sold it (it was an FTF deal).
However, when I got home I realized that I had forgotten to give the buyer the plug that fit with the...
One of the grip screws on one of my 1911s likes to work itself loose during firing. I've heard of using rubber O-rings to tighten up the fit of the screws into the frame. What size do you all recommend? Thanks!
Something that has room to hold maybe 3-4 fullsized autoloaders, with extra space for some mags or other accessories (ammo, shooting glasses, what have you.) I'd like something sturdy and lockable (something I could take on a plane if need be). Thanks!
I posted this at m1911.org as well, but I thought I'd share with my fellow THRers too. =)
Just picked up my Nork from the smith today. Very excited! All the work was done by Ed Vandenberg of Houston, TX, and is as follows:
-Ed Brown Hardcore Hammer
-Ed Brown Perfection Sear
-Ed Brown...
Anyone tried these? I just noticed them at the website. The price seems competitive with most other "popular" aftermarket 1911 mags.
I like their springs, maybe their mags are worth a try? :)
Just got a new (to me) parkerized Springer loaded. Gun is really sharp, but there is one issue. The gun has the Novak style night sights. However, the rear sight is really loose...and by really loose I mean I can slide it out of the cut if I wanted to.
Is there something I can do about this...
The only standard guide plug and guide I can find is from Ed Brown (nothing wrong with that, but just wondering if there's other options out there).
Anywhere else online I can find what I'm looking for? All I can seem to find is FLGRs :(
Thanks!
Recently made a trade with a fellow THR member for a CZ SP-01. At the time of the trade, I already owned one of these great guns, but the particular CZ SP-01 I traded for had been worked over by Teddy Jacobson. The work he did included:
-Complete Action Job
-Polish feed ramp + contour...
Thinking about getting one of his SS guide rods for my CZ, but I remember reading a few months back that the guy was a little hard to get ahold of and there were delays of up to a few months to receive the items.
Anyone know if it's still a problem or if everything is kosher now?
Any recommendations? Preferably in the Houston or Austin area. I'm about to get into the 1911 game and I'd like to know where to go if I need to get a few things worked on. Thanks! :)
So I'm thinking about making one more purchase this year. Right now I own 2 USPs (a .45 full and 9mm compact) and a CZ SP-01. Love all three of the guns. Like I said, I'm looking to buy one more...but I have no idea what. :o
Here's my criteria:
-No plastic guns (my USPs fill that niche...
I thought I'd start a new thread since my last one got a bit...off track.
A couple of weeks ago I posted a range report about the CZ SP-01
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=193533&highlight=daysleeprx
Basically, the gun was great except an FTE problem. A few people wanted an...
Finally got to take out my new SP-01 today (thanks manofsteele!) Stripped it, cleaned it (man these guns are greasy out of the box!), lubed it, and took it out with me. First impressions of the gun:
-The always popular CZ ergonomics are fantastic
-Factory night sights = yay
-Some...
Hello,
I will be giving my father an HK USP9c as a gift, and I was wondering what to do in terms of the warranty. There's two spaces for info on the card: "Purchaser's info" (me) and "Warranty assigned to".
So do I just fill it in with my father's info under "warranty assigned to"? I don't...
