    Thinking about my next purchase

I have some gun money coming next week and am thinking about what to get next. I am more of a shooter than a collector, and my next pistol will be range use, occasional carry, and possibly starting to shoot a local match or two. I currently have: Colt Government 9mm Colt Defender .45 Colt...

    Sig 290 Safe Carry

It's perfectly safe to carry chambered. The only way the pistol will fire is if the trigger is pulled. It's no different than carrying a Glock, M&P, D/A revolver, or any of a number of D/A semi autos. The best safety to use is the one between your ears.

    Beretta Tomcat

I used to pocket carry a Tomcat at work every day. It always ran like a top and never gave me a single issue. I did have one major complaint though. I was too fun to shoot with .32acp ammo prices. I couldn't just shoot a few mags at a time, I liked shooting a few boxes at a time, it was cheaper...

Took two new pistols to the range today.

The American Classic was very accurate out if the box. I did have an issue around the 300 round mark, when the original barrel bushing broke. Forgetting that it was under warranty, I had a local smith hand fit a new Ed Brown bushing. It will now shoot one hole groups until I get tired of...

Took two new pistols to the range today.

I put some rounds through my new HK P30sk and Ruger LC9s Pro this afternoon, as well as my 9mm American Classic 1911. I've had the 1911 for a while, but put new micarta grips on it and wanted to get a feel for them. The two new guns both ran like tops with Blazer brass 115gr fmj, Atlanta Arms...

Pick an iwb way to carry

None of the above. I recommend a quality dual clip hybrid holster.

Let's talk about 9mm pocket guns

I'm looking at the LC9S Pro. It's only an inch longer than my CW380 and are in sale at CDNN for $299.99.

Let's talk about 9mm pocket guns

I have been carrying a 9mm 1911 or a CZ P07 9mm (The CZ was sold last week and HK P30sk is at my FFL awaiting pick up to replace it). there are times that I need to be very discrete, and drop a Kahr CW380 into a pocket holster or carry it IWB. I love the way the CW380 disappears and is so easy...

Thinking of minor changes to my small pistol collection

I have been shopping a small pocket .380, and got me thinking of making another change in my small pistol collection. Currently, I have: American Classic 1911 Government 9mm EAA (pre Windicator) slabside .357 Mag in 6" H&R 923 .22LR revolver in 6" Walther CCP 9mm Ruger MKIII...

Help me identify an EAA revolver

I'm trying to identify an EAA revolver. I bought used in 2008, sold it in 2009. I have never seen another like it and had a chance to buy it back, so I jumped in it. It's NOT an EAA Windicator. It's blues with a 6" slab side barrel that is drilled and tapped, has a fully adjustable rear...

    Stoeger Cougar Compact 9mm

They are not made by Beretta. When Beretta quit making the Cougar line, Stoeger bought the equipment from them. They produce them themselves.

This explains a lot about the 22lr issues

Some people are willing to pay more, just to get .22 ammo. I live in Atlanta, and .22 is the last caliber that it hard to find locally.

    Target critique wanted

I ended up selling the Sig. After a few more range trips, it just didn't work for me. I replaced it with a RIA 1911. 1911's have always worked well with me. This is the result of 25 rounds at 25 feet.

    Holsters: Conceal, convenience dilemma

I will place another vote for Remora. I have used them for everything from J-Frames to a Government size 1911. They are easy on, easy off, stay in place, are comfortable, and conceal easily. For the 1911, I use one with the sweat shield and without the reinforced top.

    Parkerized finish care?

I just a got a RIA 1911 that is my first parked gun. How much oil do I need to put on the finish and how often do I need to do it?

    Target critique wanted

That is pretty much the grip that I am adjusting to. I have normally kept my strong hand thumb under my weak hand thumb, but caught myself inadvertently holding down the slide lock.

    Target critique wanted

I think shooting left is a grip issue. I had to modify my grip to keep my thumb off of the slide lock

    Target critique wanted

I want some critique on these targets. This is the second range outing with my Sig SP2022 9mm. The first trip was 110 rounds. This one was 150. I am still getting used to the trigger and a slightly modified grip to keep my thumb off of the slide lock. My first target of the day was 50 rounds...

    Bought a S&W 28-2 with a little local history

...current Chief Deputy, who bought it from his predecessor, who had bought it new. It's 28-2 in 4" with a five digit N- prefix serial number, N743** . It's been carried a good amount, but not shot too much. It currently has a Wolff reduced power main spring and hammer return springs, but he...
