Because of a family health issue I’ve had to sell my .308 rifles and I now have 400-500 loaded rounds that I want to pull. I’ve always used an inertia type puller but I’ve never had this many rounds to pull so I’d like to get one that’s faster and easier to use and won’t damage the bullets so I...
So after many years I've finally decided to enter the 21st century and switch from dry to wet tumbling with a Frankford Arsenal Lite tumbler. I have two questions. First, I'm going to use a few drops of Dawn and some Lemi Shine but I've seen the quantity of Lemi Shine to use vary from 1/8...
I’ve dry tumbled my brass since I began reloading but my current tumbler is fifteen years old and it’s likely to give up the ghost sometime in the not too distant future. When that happens, I might consider going to wet tumbling but I have a question. After resizing my bottleneck rifle cases...
I've tried searching for answers to this question but couldn’t find any so please bear with me if it's been asked and answered in the past.
I’ve been priming on press for fifteen years without any major issues to speak of. Recently though I had a batch of .308 where a few primers failed to...
My friend and I were chronographing some loads and commercial ammo the other day using his Caldwell G2. He had some 45 ACP 230gr ball that he had purchased from a commercial reloader about a year ago at a gun show that he wanted to check while I was doing something else. When I looked at the...
I know that we have a lot of RMR fans here on THR but I still want to let everyone know about my positive experience.
I placed an order right around Christmas during their 10% off sale. The item was out of stock and back ordered which I fully expected and had no problem with. Last week I...
First, I want to make it clear that I’m neither a Glock lover nor a Glock hater. Like many, they’re a manufacturer of fine firearms, all of which have their place.
My question is why all of a sudden for the past year or so are we seeing Glock everywhere? Blog articles, forum threads, videos...
Has anyone used SW Match Rifle Powder (Lovex D073-06) in their .308 AR? Burn rate is equivalent to IMR4064 which is my current .308 powder and Match Rifle is very good in my M1 Garand so I would expect it to do as well in the AR platform.
Thanks for any help offered.
It's always seemed that so many reloaders say that they prime off press because of the “feel” that they’ve developed that I wonder whether I’m just an outlier or whether there are a lot of others who feel the opposite like I do. I used to hand prime until, due to arthritis, I lost a lot of...
If anybody is loading RMR 124gr FMJRN bullets in their PC carbine can you please tell me what COAL or CBOL you’re using and is this the max length that you found you could use or just what you decided on?
I'll be purchasing a carbine soon and want to see whether I can use the same bullet seating...
My Sig P320c has a 6 inch sight radius and after installing a new front sight POI is 2 inches left of POA at 22.5 feet. If possible I'd rather not use the trial and error method to drift the sight since I live about ten minutes from the range and could conceivably involve multiple trips back...
For pistol cartridges I’ve been using a Lee Auto Drum for the past two years. I’m not completely unhappy with it but I’m wondering if it might be worth changing over to a Hornady, RCBS or Lyman unit.
The only pistol caliber I load is 9mm and my preferred powder is HP-38/W231. Since the first...
I'm not sure where to post this question but since it relates to buying and selling I’ll post it here and Mod, please feel free to move it as you see fit.
I’ve bought and sold a lot of gun related items on this and other forums over the past year and I’ve been wondering if there is a general...
I’m not in any way associated with Annealeez but just wanted to give a big thumbs up to their CS.
Last Friday evening I was annealing a couple hundred .308 cases and my unit developed a problem and all of a sudden it wouldn’t maintain a constant speed regardless of how I adjusted it. It would...
This is my first attempt at using a Whidden f/l bushing die and I’m having the problem exhibited in the pictures. I know that you’re not supposed to size down more than .008 in one step but this case only started out at .338 and I’m using a .335 bushing so there shouldn’t be a problem...
I could really use some help here guys. I've searched and read previous threads, all of which are at least a couple of years old and I'm more undecided and confused now than before I started.
I've been loading for my Savage 10FCP-SR using almost exclusively Lapua cases with a few other good...
168gr SMK over 42.5gr IMR4064, CCI LRP, FGMM once fired brass in Ruger Precision .308.
All four seating depths tested are five shot. Number refers to bullet jump in my rifle. .038 (FGMM) means it's the same seating depth (jump) used in FGMM ammo.
I'm not used to testing and evaluating...
Yesterday was the first time out with my 308 RPR. My objective was to test loads from 42.0 to 43.5 grains IMR-4064 in 0.5gr increments initially. The reason for the odd 42.8gr load is that a number of people state that it's the FGMM load. A lot of people also say that it's 43.5gr. In any...
Is there anything to be gained by annealing fully processed brass (LC) that's waiting to be primed or is the benefit really only gained by annealing before sizing and further processing?
Thank you.
Yesterday after boresighting a scope in my new RPR, I didn't have anything to do so I watched some videos on the sighting in process and saw a couple of people who advocated final range sight in be done by firing one round and moving the sighting point in the scope to the point of impact rather...
