    Actual experience with Taurus

I picked up a used Taurus 85 ultra light .38spl around Christmas and it shoots great. It is usually in my off hand pocket. I suspect someone bought it for his better half without having her shoot it. There wasn't even a turn ring on the cylinder.

    I think I'm hooked on .38 Special

It's my most shot center fire cartridge by a wide margin even in my .357s. Soft shooting and accurate.

Revolver Picture Thread of All Time

@ Content. Thanks! It's a nice little gun. She finally came on board this year. She finally realized how screwy some of my 'clients' are. Then they had a stabbing where she works.

Stock Project for Daughters’ Mossberg Plinksters

Sorry, Been off the site for a while (Had the nephew's wedding pix to do and some Concealed Carry classes to teach. Then the real job) The Kalishnikitty stickers are from (where else?) eBay. Actually all the picture stickers are from eBay. The letters were from WalMart. They are more...

Revolver Picture Thread of All Time

My better half's new Carter Arms Undercover Lite in, as she puts it, International Harvester red. I think it will do nicely. I was surprised how tightly it locks up and how smooth its trigger pull is.

Stock Project for Daughters’ Mossberg Plinksters

The things that happen when your daughters start shooting. I started with plain Mossberg baby EBRs then let the girls choose the colors and decorations. Nothing fancy, Krylon Fusion, lots of masking tape, then a lot of clear coat to seal the stickers down. They love them. Just plain black...

    Charter Arms

We bought an undercover lite in red & black for her first gun and CCW gun. I was surprised with its lockup and how smooth the trigger pull was on an inexpensive revolver. It is extremely accurate too. They make nice guns.

police trade in's, Do you trust them

Well, I have a few police guns. I have pair of Smiths (19 & 28) which were very holster worn, my Beretta 96G and a Remington 870. I had a S&W 66 for a while too. I haven't had trouble with any of them. I plan to buy the Glock when its time comes. I carry the 19 & Beretta regularly. Police...

stag grips for a walker ?

You could email Patrick Grashorn at grashorns gunworks his email is on that page. I have 2 (S&W) pair of his elk grips and they look great. He makes them from elk or moose. Now that you mention it, I wonder if he'd make some for my 1858 Remington.

    Any Beretta 92G guys around?

Close I liked my 96G (.40 S&W) enough to buy it (and put custom grips on it) when we switched to Glocks. They shoot nicely and are easy to control becasue of their mass. You should enjoy it. Yours should be a 'retired' PD gun. According to my 'bible' (Standard Catalog of Firearms) the 'G'...

    Joined the Smith Club Today

Welcome aboard. The K frames are a favorite of mine too. I hope you have plenty of room left in the safe, Smiths have a tendency to breed. Guns aren't happy unless they get to smell some gunsmoke. It's a model 10, make it happy. I shoot my K frame model 19 every chance I get.

Flipflopping from Autos to Revolvers, and Back Again?

I carry both autos and revolvers regularly. I have a HUGE affinity for the K frame Smiths. I carry my 4" model 19 with 'Executioner' elk antler grips on some days off or when in the woods. I carry G27 on working days because it also serves as a backup. I understand the argument for...

    THR Remington 1858 Club

Do you have a 'family plan?' Remember, girls need little guns. A Pietta .44 from Cabela's. Not only did my kids shoot it. I managed to get my brother, sister, and father-in-law to play along with a 30gr load. This is easily the most popular gun I have.

    Colored Guns

I guess I have been corrupted. I bought a pink .22 for my daughter’s first rifle & she talked me into making a set of purple heart grips for my 'fake' 1911. I love the look of the full color grips at Rio Grande or the exotic woods Olympus (Brown's custom grips) makes. I prefer blued...

    16 y/o with an AR15?

'The AR15 is an "assault rifle" according to my dad so its much more violent than a .22 rifle.' Ah, yes the 'Evil Black Rifle' effect. I believe the Germans thought the Mosin-Nagant, 1903 Springfield, M-1, and Enfield were pretty violent too. Mosins are ok for inexpensive plinkers, I...
