Colored Guns

I've considered getting the slide of my competition Glock done in some wild color scheme, but I'm afraid it would distract the eye from optimal acquisition of a red or green fiber optic sight if the slide had those colors on it as well.

In all honesty it belongs to my wife, but I do carry it when she doesn't. :)
Also I don't think it looks bad though I would never wear a pink shirt...

Buy? Probably not. Apply my own Duracoat? Certainly. I am mostly talking about camo patterns, but I suppose if someone told me they wanted a Pepto-colored gun, I would accommodate them.

I asked my wife once if she wanted a pink gun. She said only if I didn't mind having marks on it where she beat my head in with it.

I favor tradition. In long guns, I prefer walnut and blued steel to black kevlar and stainless. EBRs in black are okay, since that's their "tradition." I do like stainless revolvers, though, but prefer nice wood grips. Don't think I'd go looking for a gaudy-colored gun. (Might camo a hunting rifle, though.)

Heard of a woman who bought herself a pink Harley-Davidson. When asked, "Why?" she replied, "So my husband won't ride it!"

It may be personal bias, but if I had a gun I needed to sell, I'd hope it wouldn't be a colored gun as I suspect the market for colored guns is considerably smaller than for the stereotypical blue/black or stainless metals with wood/black furniture/grips.

Completely orange, for several reasons. Gives you and edge: A bad guy might think you are bluffing with a toy gun, the cops PROBABLY won't shoot you when they roll up on your self defense scene, and you can find your gun easier in the wild if you accidentally get separated from it.

I like bright colors... I'm thinking something in neon green... or maybe a nice orange and black tiger pattern...

I just got a a Springfield XD45 tactical in OD Green. I wasn't so hot on it at first, but it is starting to grow on me. I stuck some decal grips on it, and it breaks up the green, and goes well with the slide. Now I just need to shoot it.

I guess I have been corrupted. I bought a pink .22 for my daughter’s first rifle & she talked me into making a set of purple heart grips for my 'fake' 1911. I love the look of the full color grips at Rio Grande or the exotic woods Olympus (Brown's custom grips) makes.

I prefer blued, nickel or stainless finishes but I'm not sure I could pass on a great deal on the 'colored' Charters just because they are red or gold anodized aluminum. Or even (shudder) pink or purple for my better half.

I like Black,Blue and very rarely silver ones.

TBH i really don't like silver ones, I just tolerate them as that model may only come in stainless like my MK9 Kahr. But given the chance i may have it coated black also.

I like SS, blue/black with wood or rubber grips. I don't want green or brown guns, or cars. I turned down a hell of a deal on a CZP01 when I found out it was for a green one only. I don't like camo stuff much at all either. I had a ex-PD Beretta 92FS with a dinged up frame a couple years ago, and I was just about to send it off to some place and have it refinished a dark blue, and have the slide nickeled, but someone offered me a decent price on it, so I sold it off instead. I was kind of thinking a bright orange gun might be a good idea too, as Sharpdressedman was.

I was opposed until lately when I saw a what a master of the airbrush did for a truely hiddeous old gun. He made a truely horrendous stock and no blueing left on the barrel rifle into a work of art. He reblued the barrel and action and painted the stock gloss blue to match. Then he air brushed flames all over it! The owner has the before and after pics to prove its the same one no one would buy. Now even he wont sell it!

Not Painted... in the color of the plastic or anodized...

I'm not oposed to it but what generally goes through my mind is "will this item remind me of the avocado colored refrigerators that were popular in the 70s" down the road. This goes for car colors and work done around the home as well.

I candy painted a Marlin .22
I need to take some pictures in the sun with a real camera I took this with my cell phone.
