Hello, friends.
I've inherited a 1942 Inland M1 Carbine and decent amount of original ammunition.
When zeroing it this last weekend, I was quite surprised to find how far the rear sight had to be drifted to attain a POA/POI windage zero. I was also surprised at how much of the front sight I...
I'm wondering how intense of a gunsmithing job it is to remove/relocate the front sight on a CZ550 and thread the barrel. I'd like to mount a suppressor.
The CZ rep I contacted didn't seem to know if the front sight was screwed + epoxied, screwed + soldered, or just plain screwed on.

After seeing that thread go a long while with people rattling off just about every firearm manufacturer in existence, I'd like to see what people want to buy (for what few of them exist,)...
I just received my Zeiss 3-9x40 Conquest scope from Opticsplanet for a steal of a price. When I took it and my CZ-550FS to Sportsman's Warehouse, the employee told me that I need special CZ-550 rings and that Sportsman's doesn't carry them, fair enough. He kindly recommended that I look at...
This may seem as a odd request, but I'm in the market for a scope for a CZ550 FS.
The rifle has a full-length mannlicher stock. I'm looking for a scope that, other than being a quality piece of glass, looks good on the rifle.
I don't know if it's just me, but most modern scopes look odd...
So, let me start off by saying that I'm not the most experience shooter in the world. I don't have the wisdom of the ages to fall back on ;)
But, here's my problem. I have a Remington 700 SPS chambered in 308. Winchester that I use for elk here in Utah. I started reloading for it a year ago...
I think I'm pretty much certain that I'm never going to see an AK-12 here in the United States (the civilian version, if there ever is one). But I'm looking into AK's here in the near future, and was wondering what aftermarket parts are available to give me much of the same functionality on an...
To clarify the original title, what is the value of ethics to a hunter concerning an animal's experience of pain?
Please don't take what I'm about to say as an attack on hunting. It is a sport that my family has have enjoyed for countless years and hopefully I'll be able to pass it on to my...
I'm a sophomore at the University of Utah. The U of U is not a "gun free zone" (thankfully) and I've heard of other students that pack heat. In light of all the recent school shootings I'm really wanting to carry. Now, there are a couple problems. First, I turn 21 in November, so I can't buy a...
I can't seem to find any electronic earmuffs that have the ability to have a handheld radio integrated into them. All google turns up are earmuffs that have an AM/FM raido...which isn't what I want at all.
Any ideas or leads?
One of my favorite pastimes in the summer is to go ground squirrel hunting with family. My recently acquired 15-22 has proved to make it even more fun, but I have a small problem. On shots less than 25 yards, when a squirrel is usually only sticking out an inch or so from around a rock or out of...
I have a question concerning the dangers of shooting indoors with regards to lead poisoning via a 22. LR.
I've read that once a lead bullet impacts a target (like a metal target trap) it produces "lead dust" that can become airborne and cause lead poisoning. I was wondering if the same can...
I'm signing up for an Appleseed course this coming April in my home state of Utah. I regularly use a well broken in, bolt-action CZ-452 chambered in 22. LR. With open sights this rifle is more than capable of quarter sized groups at fifty yards and less than a dime if I have a decent scope...
I've been using a 30 year old Ohaus 505 to weigh all my powder but I'm having issues with it. I think the "magnetic dampening" is a bit too powerful. Sometimes if I put a little bit too much powder the arm will swing up and the magnets will prevent it from coming back down, even if I take the...
I'm going to be designing a dedicated shooting bench here in the next few days. At this point I'm going to have a large reloading area, about 31" deep and 47" wide with 12 cubbies for some organizing bins above the main working area.
As the topic says, if you were going to rebuild your...
Howdy guys, I have a question. I shoot a Remington 700 SPS in 308. and for some time now I've been using 150 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips for hunting. As per some recommendations I'm going to try the 180 gr Nosler instead but...
the 180 gr Nosler is much, much longer than the 150 gr. Long enough...
Howdy folks. I'm having somewhat of a problem with my Remington 700 SPS. It rusts like a mother. I've tried using Outer's Rust Remover but it always seems to come back. I'm starting to be concerned about the barrel though. I clean it regularly, but should I be worried about rust inside the...
As the title says, if someone could whip out the calipers and tell me what the dimensions of the firing pin for a bolt action Remington 582 I would be most pleased. The pin on my dad's old gun from his childhood broke a couple years back and we've never gotten around to (or remembered) it until...
Howdy guys. I frequented this forum towards the end of last summer asking questions about handloading and whatnot...turns out it all paid off! Just though I'd say thanks for your guys willingness to help out with the new kid on the block.
Now, on with the questions. I shot this elk dead...
Hey guys, just a quick question about the 452.
I'm starting to lean towards putting a suppressor on my 452. The only problem I've encountered is that the front sight isn't actually an integral part of the barrel. In that, it looks like the barrel tapers from 3/4" to 1/2" for the last 2" and the...
