    Taurus .38 Spcl

I haven't made any comments in here for awhile, but this one caught my attention. I bought the wife a model 85 (the heavy, shiny one), 4 years ago for her birthday. She and I both love it and practice with it often. I even have on my carry permit (good old California and their MUST LIST ALL THAT...

"Why do you carry a gun?"...

Why I CCW..... 35 years ago (I was 22 years old), I never locked my front door or my car/pickup and sometime I even left the keys in the ignition. Anyone from a rural area can make that same claim. Although I owned guns at that time, I would have considered it a nusance to carry any of them all...

    Drinking and CCW

Now I understand you. You are a metric loving, cafe racer that probably drinks his brew at the suggested temperature of 50 F. But if you like guns and the second amendment, and Biker hasn't flamed you yet, you can't be all bad.;) But I STILL won't drink and carry. If you are forced to use...

    Drinking and CCW

Besides, Biker being a Harley guy, it's probable those 24 "beers" he is talking about are the chemical concoctions only loosely connected to anything that the reinheitsgebot would recognize as real beer, so the count doesn't really matter that much Beer worthy of that name does not come in cases...

Advertising to find new students for gun instruction business

I recently recieved (about a year), my NRA, Home Safety Instructor and Basic Pistol Instructor certifications. I agree it's difficult to get started but don't expect anyone to beat down your door until your name (and hopefully a good reputation), starts to get around. I am currently volunteering...

    Practicing with your CCW

I'm an NRA Basic Handgun Instructor as well as a qualified CCW instructor. I doubt that the person that told you that was really NRA affiliated. I least I hope he's not. You should practice with your carry gun as much as feasable. Not only to hit the bad guys but to NOT hit the innocent ones.

Is this where traffic cameras are headed?

Sorry-I won't jump on this bandwagon About 12 years ago a very close friend of mine was killed doing that exact same thing. Had she been spotted, brought to court, scolded and fined like that, we could be having a beer and laughing about stupid stuff we did 12 years ago rather than me visiting...

    Question about CCW classes

Where do live, Troy? In my area (California), you must shoot 6 rounds, drop mag, insert new mag and shoot 6 more rounds at 3 yards, 7 yards and 15 yards. You must place at least 28 shots in the black (paper BG ). Some certifiers make you go through single hand shooting at 7 yards with...

    Expensive States?

The real issue here ......is gun costs in my area. My neighbor is the only FFL in town and he sells to me for 10% above cost. Now, how HIS prices are (the price he pays), I have no real benchmark other than the cheapest prices I've seen on the internet. He always beats them.
