Trying to locate a rear sight for a Winchester Model 70 made in 1970. Winchester no longer carries this nor does Jack First who they referred me to. Does anyone know a source for this rear sight whether OME or after market? Thanks, Byron
I have a Ruger Single Seven. My bullet is a 100 grain Hornady XTP. I wish to use Winchester 231. I would like the velocity to be about 1200 FPS. Any suggestions? Also would a standard small pistol primer be adequate o should I go to a small pistol primer?
I have a Ruger #1 Lightweight Sporter that has a 1 in 9 twist. I would like to experiment with Hornady 68 grain BTHP and Winchester 748. I am open to suggestions.
Trying to find pre 64 Winchester Model 70 scope bases for short action. Rifle was made in 1961 Looking for Weaver style or similar. What would be the parts numbers and brands?
I have one Military 15 round magazine that works. Those I ordered from midway and Sportsman Guide do not as they jam or will not chamber a round.are there any quality 15 round magazine that work?
It has been some years since I have been on. A long illness of my wife and her passing made her my only priority. My life is good now and I have remarried and enjoying life again.I have missed this site.Byron
I have purchased the 10/22 takedown with flash suppressor.Without the factory installed flash suppressor, the barrel would be 14 1/2 inches, with suppressor 16 1/2 inches. What would the velocity be for a 22 40 grain high velocity from the 14 1/2 inche barrel? From an 18" it would be about 1250 fps.
For personal reasons I will be using a 10/22 for my home defense. I have both CCI Minimags in 40 grain solid and Hollow points. Your objective comments will enable me to decide which is better. This is my only consideration so I request any comments be kept to my post. Thanks, Byron
Recently acqiured the above ammunition and wrote Speer. Their reply was interesting as I ask what the velocity was from a rifle.
Byron: the Short Barrel 22 WMR is made for a 1 and 7/8's barrel and a velocity of 1050 fps. The rifle will give you ~ 1875 fps and provide poor terminal...
I purchased one today and went to the range. The pistol is a liitle stiff at first but broke in quickly. I fire a box of Atlanta Arms 380 95 grain and at 7 yards,it was point of aim point of point of impact. Little recoil with the Atlanta Arms or Hornady critical defense. very pleased with it.
I purchased one recently and found it to be a good pocket pistol for me.I called Sig to ask of the ammo and +P is prohibited.I am using Hornady CD.He said it was necessary to repace the springs once a year or every 500 rounds. This is not a plinker but do the springs wear that quickly on this gun?
Is anyone seeing more 22 LR ammo available?Midway and Ammoman has none.Walmart puts out what they have at 7:30 AM and my understanding it is the same ones in line. I am unable to get there at that time. Byron
I recently purchsed one and placed a Bushnell 6X18 Banner scope on it.My cartridges were my reloads with a 55 grain Hornady V-MAX. I zeroed at 25 yards and then to the 100 yard range. Groups were 5". I began to adjust the harmonic dampener backwards with no results. Taking it back to the...
I have been told the Mountain men used Olive Oil aka Sweet Oil to swab their barrels to prevent rust before a though claening. If this is correct, where would they have access to it and how high would have been their cost? Thanks, Byron
