    Price for Winchester 94, 30-30?

That's a good deal. See if he'll take a cash offer, it may knock that price down. I have 2 of these, and I prefer my late 60's version to my '05. There's less play in the action and it levers a little more smoothly. These are great "do-it-all" guns that shoulder quickly and handle well. They...

    The K Frame

My first, a model 10-8. The first time a shot a model 10 was back in the 80's, and it was my uncles' K-38. It was so smooth and accurate it was almost boring :scrutiny: . When I found this the other day, in practically unfired condition, I just had to have it. Twenty years later, I own...

    .41 Magnum Phase Coming On.

Thoght I'd chime in. I'm very impressed with the Marlin 1894. Shoulders as well and as quickly as my Winchesters, and the .41 mag is a very versatile caliber. Of course, I handload and that makes all the difference, as it does for all calibers. I cast my own bullets, too, which just...

    Best Multi-Pistol Powder?!?!?!

For my .38, .45acp and .44 mag. I use alot of 231, 2400 and Blue Dot. 231 comes close to an all-around powder.

How has your Glock 36 performed?

About 2500 rounds later: shoots everything, accurate, easy to shoot, hides well. :D What more could you ask? People have had last round feeding problems with a +1 mag extension, but a heavier mag spring cures it.

    What's my GP100 worth?

My friend would like to buy my 3", stainless, fixed sight GP100. It's about 15 years old. I want to price it fairly, but have no idea what it's worth. Anyone know?

S&W Model 10-8, 4" hvy barrel, round butt

I will post photos as soon as I replace my freshly stolen digital camera :scrutiny: . Stephen, thanks for the link and your great articles. I've enjoyed your site in the past :) . This will be primarily the family house gun. Up until now, that role has been played by a 3" stainless GP100 with...

S&W Model 10-8, 4" hvy barrel, round butt

Thanks for the replies. I picked it up tonight. I'm looking very hard, and there are absolutely no wear marks or scratches anywhere, not even on the stocks. I can't say for sure that it's even been fired! I think I truly lucked out. :D I will look at both holsters. ;)

    Rebluing a S&W 36

Majic, Who knows what that gun was used for? What's being honored? I won't attach sentamentality to an object except under very specific circumstances. Buddah did not say the gun had special meaning, or was inherited from someone for whom the gun should be enshrined. He didn't say it was used...

S&W Model 10-8, 4" hvy barrel, round butt

Any fans of the model 10 out there? I'm picking this one up today, and can't wait to try it out. The proportions and balance on this gun are near perfect and it just looks and feels right. Any cc holster suggestions? How about favorite loads?

    Rebluing a S&W 36

I don't believe in historical value. A gun is a tool, and nothing more. You use it, you put wear and tear on it, you clean it up nice and shiney again. If the markings made by someone else are that important, put the gun in a glass case and don't touch it. That gun should be restored and used...

    Rainer plated bullets in Glock

The rifling in a Glock is not lead friendly. Hard lead bullets, say around 22bhn, are best. If you use hard lead and clean your barrel well (well = all lead deposits removed) after every session, you shouldn't have a problem. If you're not a good barrel scrubber, lead buildup will increase...

Which ONE handgun would you keep...

SHTF? I think we all buy at least one gun with that idea in mind. However, a handgun is a close range (which I define as <30') weapon, and for SHTF circumstances is the last resort. Therefore, my 3" GP100 would be on my hip, and a long arm (.30-30 lever, SKS, 870, whatever) in my hands!

    recoil - .357 versus .44

My friend has a Super Redhawk .44 mag., I have a GP100. While the .357 is not hard to shoot, it pops back harder than a .38. With practice, rapid fire can be controlled, with good accuracy. The .44 cannot be, at least not for me. I've been handgunning for 25 years, I have a strong upper body and...

    No lead through polygonal rifling?

A local bulletmaker told me that when Glocks first hit the market, lead reloads were commonly SWCs that were quite soft and would create lead build up just ahead of the chamber. He said that hard cast bullets with a rounded profile should be no problem. He sold me a box of hard cast (@22bhn)...

    ruger GP100 .357 info

If the gun is clean, that's a real good price! You can not, not, NOT go wrong with a GP100! It's my house gun because the whole family shoots it well, it's accurate, and yes, in the right holster it carries just fine. :)
