    Anderson MFG.

I've have used 5 Anderson lowers for different builds. I've used a JSE upper, RedX upper, Anderson "blem" upper that I built on w/different parts, some floated handguard some w/the std bolt. I have 1 more to put together for a 300 blackout build I'm saving for. So far all have been very good...

45-70 with trail boss and plated bullets

I've tried Trailboss in the 45/70 but w/cast bullets & not plated. I don't know velocity but it makes the Ruger #1 very easy to shoot for plinking loads. The big holes are the 45/70, the little ones are a 32mag. I shot these a while back and don't remember the particulars, I think the distance...

    327 Federal Magnum

The first pic is a NOE mold, I believe a #313640. It's outside in the shop & I'm too lazy to go look it up. I have another NOE mold that's a "Keith" design for the 32. Both bullets come in around 113-118 w/check & lube. Sorry for the poor quality pics...cheap cell phone.

    327 Federal Magnum

I have a Ruger Blackhawk in .327 but haven't shot it in quite a while. I have a new bullet mold to try out but it's cold here & my want to's aren't high enough up on the list to start casting in a 20 degree workshop. Maybe this spring I'll pull it out of the safe and start some testing with it...

    Taurus Tracker 922 22 LR/WMR

I have the 4" stainless model. Purchased it about 2-3 months ago but haven't shot it very much. I only have a couple bricks of 22lr and a couple box's of 22mag so it's sat in the safe most of the time. I like the interchangeable cylinders and it's easy to swap but I noticed from the factory...

Looking for a cheap AR lower

I purchased an Anderson from these guys. They're a couples hours away from where I live. Bought the lower & parts kit first. Then they ran a sale on the JSE uppers & I picked one of them up too. No complaints, both run fine...

Does anyone make a 45 colt wadcutter mold?

You might try here. I have a few of Al's molds, they cast great. http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=41&osCsid=gemmmtkpifgqqvdv7925gaivo5

    .223 sizing issue

I had a similar problem w/RCBS & Lee dies on the LNL press. In my case the die/dies weren't sizing far enough down on the body of the case. I was taking .223 once fired & converting to a 20 practical. I had the barrel in hand and was having problems with chambering. I took a black sharpie &...

38 SPL PMC primer problems--heads up!

I've had that happen a few times also on 38spl and 9mm. I use a small flat blade screw driver or the tip of a drywall screw and wedge it under the bottom of the primer. It takes some prying but usually pops out. Sometimes I scrape a mark on one side till it's scored through and that makes it a...

IMR 4756 and IMR 4759 - What are they good for?

Not sure what you have to use them in but I use 4759 for reduced loads in my 45/70, also reduced loads in most jacketed bullet cartridges. I use 4756 in cast 9mm & 38spl. I favor it in the 9mm w/cast because it was the last powder I tried when experimenting w/a leading problem. It stopped the...

Tips For Seating Flat Bottomed Rifle Bullets?

I use the M die and the Lee Universal Expander mostly for cast bullets. I started using the Hornady New Dimension seater die for my .223, keeps the bullet nice and straight.

    NRA 50/50 vs. Carnauba Rd

I haven't tried 50/50 but I use a version of the CR from Glen. It's his commercial grade, isn't quite as "sticky" so the boolits don't stick together near as bad when storing in a box. I shoot a Miha 359-125 in my SR9C and Hi Point carbine...just cast & sized some 45's using said lube...works...

    Who likes their SR1911??

I like both of mine. I shoot the full size a little better than the commander. I handload and cast my own bullets so a little load development is in order. The full size dosen't seem too picky about what it eats. I've used Red Dot, 231, Universal, & Clays. So far I'm unable to tell any...

    Sad... terrible... I hate change.

These days it seems everything you buy is a gamble. I've read bad reviews on winchester brass, & have also been a victim of bad brass, brand new, fresh out of the package winchester brass. Winchester 22-250 used to be the go to if you didn't want/couldn't afford the higher end brass. I had 4...

    E.R Shaw barrels.

    I've been doing barrel swaps for Savage rifles for about a year now. Started out w/a 22-250 on a .243 action. It snowballed from there. I now have 2ea .223's 1, sporter & 1, varmint contour, 2ea 22-250's same contour's as 223's, sporter .243, .221 fireball, 20 practical, .308 sporter, &...

    bullet lube recomendation

I also use White Lable Lubes. Carnuba Red, Commercial Red, BAC, & 2500. I've had good results with them using them in mag. pistol loads and light cast loads for 30/30 & 45/70. Another lube I've recently tried is Speed Green & Speed Green w/carnuba from The Bullshop. www.bullshop.gunloads.com. He...

What sizing lube do you use?

I've tried just about anything slick. Imperial Wax, RCBS lube pad, Lee lube, Hornady one shot, Lanolin, mink oil, and just recently, Bullsize wax. I really like the Bullsize wax. I also swage bullets from .40cal to a 44mag and the Bullsize is smoooooth as butter...

    Headspace

I shoot a couple Savage bolt guns. I do barrel swaps from .243 to .308 to .22-250 all to the same action. It takes about 15 minutes to change one out. I use a fired case as a GO guage to set headspace. I then use a strip of invisible tape on the casehead & test the bolt. If the bolt closes easy...

.32 H&R magnum - any good reason NOT to use non-magnum primer?

I've ran into problems with Remington small pistol primers. I've also used Wolf, CCI, Winchester, & Winchester small RIFLE primers in the 32mag. I shoot them in a Ruger Single Six baby Vaquero. The Ruger has no problem setting off a small rifle primer. I like CCI the best so far, mainly because...
