I tried trap shooting for the first time today.

The past few years as I age find me shooting my 28ga most often. I used to reload 28ga but the price of components now are higher. It's almost as cheap to just buy the ammo. I keep my 28ga hulls and give/sell them later to friends who still reload. 28ga is a sweet light shooter and still...

    Tristar Raptor deal

My G2 Silver. I have the same guns in 12, 20 & 28ga. Very Very similar to my A400 gas system.

    Tristar Raptor deal

For that price you may have a winner anyway. But for me in a TriStar would have to be the G2 Viper version. The G2 is a more modern gas system and both mine have been great shotguns. Good Luck!

    Looking at 28 gauge SxS

Why do you prefer a SxS? I understand the nostalgia part. However if you go O/U your choices are many more. Find you a used Beretta 686 SP. Good value for what you pay. My 28ga is my favorite shooter!

Wonder what 12ga breaching ammo looks like?

My Marine son tells me the training they experienced with the breeching rounds was to shoot right above or below the door latch at ~45 degree angle. The you were able to kick the door in. My guess is that may or not be possible if it is a metal industrial type door. Wooden or light metal clad...

I suppose everyone in Shotgun knows this, but...

One thing you might think about is the age of the graph. For instance, I find that modern shot cup ammo patterns generally a little tighter than old cardboard disc ammo from my youth. Seems to be about one choke level difference. For instance, what used to take a full choke for me patterns...

    Rubbish, or I’m missing something?

I guess different is not always better or worse. It's just different! Choose your best option for the need and move on. Choices will change as time passes. Just look at the changes in ammo in the past 100 years! "Get busy living or get busy dying!"

It says 11/4 oz on the box.

    Rubbish, or I’m missing something?

Could it be that it is intended to cause maximum tissue damage without over penetration? I agree it would not be suitable for larger animals. I would not consider it a do-all ammo for sure.

Wonder what 12ga breaching ammo looks like?

A friend of mine bought a box of 12ga "breaching" loads to play with, and he agreed to give me one for examination. After my assessment, it is my opinion that this ammo is highly over priced for what it is. His box of ten rounds cost him $50. Basically it is rat shot inside the cup with a...

    NEW Hunting Semi-Autos?

I always have luck with Beretta shotguns. The A400 will work for you. There are several variations of the A400. Choose the right one for your needs. Easy to take down and clean. Reliable equipment.
