The logical Reason would be the FAL was the most widly used that means great support system,parts,mags.From the standpoint of reliability would be equal with the edge going to the FAL for ease of maintenence,From an accuracy point the edge goes to the M14.Feel and ergonomics the FAL..thats why...

Not for nothing but dosent the acu-wedge put force on the take down pin any way because its pushing up on the upper so there is upward strain on the take down pin?Basicaly its pushing the upper away from the lower and the pin is the only thing holding it there,so force in that area is there...

On 20 round mags its easy to put the spring back in the wrong way if you have disasembled it in the past,a common thing soldiers did with the mag in viet nam,you know its assembled right if it compreeses after its loaded to 20 like you could fit 21 if you wanted then its in right.:D

tough to know what parts you had prior when there are no serial#s on parts especialy if you find out how it left the factory and configure it the same way wich is hard to find out on a 50 year old rifle from a company that no longer exists I assume inland is no more.
