Agreed. It's not necessary to get an AR to prep someone for the military. I've been a part of thousands of recruits' marksmanship training and the easiest one's to teach are the one's that haven't had a chance to develop bad habits and are receptive to instruction. I can't speak for the other...
A buddy and I were hunting on Saturday. We watched a doe and small spike walking around together all morning. After calling it quits we were walking back to the house from the blind and the doe jumped out from the treeline in front of us and stopped at about 50-60 yds.
I shot her in the...
Im not sure if this was supposed to be a compliment or a jab.
I did. Only spent $350 and got a rifle that relies on about as simple and reliable a firing mechanism as you can find in any gun. Plus any parts that could wear out are inexpensive and easy to find.
Got mine today!
I wasn't sure if I liked the Burris Tac30 on it but the more I looked at it and shouldered it the more I liked it. Plus I mounted it with quick-detach Leupold rings so I can throw a red dot on there easily if I want.
This is going to be an awesome hunting and plinking...
I've got a 2-7x Redfield on my Ruger .338RCM and have had no issues. Holds zero and is nice and compact. Decent glass for the price. I would buy another.
right around 1000 yds with an ACOG from an M4. We were having a little fun after some training overseas. It took a shots to get on target but we could consistently hit 3x3 hesco barriers.
I like my 700AACSD a lot. The trigger isn't as good as other 700's I've tried and I'm not sure why but other than that, it's a great rifle. I did sand down the front of the forend to free float the barrel but that took less than 5 minutes and the Hogue stock still looks untouched.
I laughed out loud when they agreed on $8k for a $500 rifle with a short barrel, trigger job, and scout scope mount and a $800 revolver with engraving on the cylinder and a trigger job. I dont know what's worse, that they would charge that much or that the customer was dumb enough to think that...
I stretched my 10/22 out to 175 on a 8" plate. Same as you, once I figured out the holdover I could hit it almost every time. It is definitely satisfying to hear that little ping.
I got a chance to go to the range and I brought my camera. Got a few good still captured from video.
Shot my 300BLK AR, AMD-65, XD sub-compact, and XDm.
