    Ballister-Molina grip screw

Thanks for the heads up, BHP FAN. Those are great looking grips. And I'm glad you told me about the cat; now I don't have to worry about Sasquatch taking a picture of his own arm.:)

    Ballister-Molina grip screw

One of my clients has commissioned a set of bloodwood grips for his Ballister-Molina 11.25mm. The factory grips are waaayyy different from 1911 grips... screw hole size and spacing are different and the grips are screwed directly to the frame without using bushings. The factory screws have a...

Most accurate handgun you've ever fired?

Most accurate I've ever shot was a friend's S&W 617 8" barrel .22. Just pick your spot and make a hole. Most accurate I've owned is my CZ PCR.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

Big O recently said that the United States now supports the UN Millenium Development Goals. If you haven't read this example of UN obfuscation you will probably find it interesting reading..... either they've been taking lessons from our Congress or we've been taking lessons from them. The...

    Refinishing my PSL stain suggestions

Look at dyes instead of stain. A stain stays on the surface of the wood while a dye penetrates deeper. Behlen's makes a product called Solar Lux that I use in my furniture work....they have greens, oranges, whatever you want. You can also mix colors and adjust the intensity by using retarders...

    Questions about gun schools...

+1 for Shootrite. Tiger wrote "The Book of Two Guns" and really knows his stuff. They have expanded their program recently, check out the link in sjmills6901 post above. I live only twenty minutes from there....lucky me!

Don't know what is the fascination is with Russian firearms?

hinton03, one question I haven't seen asked yet is what specifically were your negative experiences with Russian weapons. For example, my Yugo 59/66 had a failure to feed problem; I fixed it with a $1.00 stainless washer on the gas valve...no problems since then. Were they problems of fit and...

Do you give you guns pet names?

Not pet names per se. If my kids and I are talking about our carry guns in front of people who don't want to know about them or don't have any business knowing about them, we use code names. I ask my daughter if she is with her boyfriend or the twins. Depending on her answer I know if she is...

Fairfield, AL Police Chief says business owners should own a gun

FYI...I'm in Marshall County, one step over from Morgan County. I went to the Sheriff's office today to get my permit renewed. Got 3 permits renewed (me and 2 of my kids), shelled out $30 and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. Oh, yeah.

Fairfield, AL Police Chief says business owners should own a gun

You'll like Huntsville. I live on Guntersville Lake (about 35 miles southeast of Huntsville),one of the best bass lakes in the country, as well as one of the prettiest places. HSV has a great gun store (Larry's) and several good outdoor ranges. If you're into training courses, Tiger Mckee has...

Your opinion on the Walther P22

Same here. I had a couple of failure to feed issues and found out that the early mags had some problems. I called Walther customer service, they asked me to check the part number of the mags. If it didn't have an "A" suffix they would replace it...and they did. Haven't had a problem since. Like...

    Humorous homemade gun posters

KindofBlued, I like that boat poster. So many people on this forum lost guns in that sinking and I'd really like to see a picture of that boat. Must have been one heckuva stout watercraft to carry that kind of tonnage. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Apropos nothing whatsoever, do...

    Your favorite S&W 357?

6" Model 66 was the first .357 I shot and is still my favorite. Sweet. If I were to get another it would probably be a 4", though.
