At this moment it would be my Ruger SR9. 18 rounds of personal protection in a really comfortable, easy to aim frame. I was shooting it yesterday and am super impressed with all aspects of it. I really would rather have my Glock 22C IF I could shoot it as well.
It's a hard choice. I love my new 1911. It and 2 extra magazines would be plenty. (It's hard thinking about not having any of one's particular guns).

Only one 9mm? It would HAVE to be a G19. Mid size for easy carry, bullet proof, high cap, it's the most versatile IMO. I have a G27, but only because I have several other full-size auto's including the XDm. If I were limited to just one gun, it would be the G23 because I prefer .40's. If it had to be a 9, it would be the 19. No brainer.

I'd probably choose one of these three:
Glock G19 (good all around for CCW and home defense)
Springfield XD9 SC (Better for CCW, equally good for home defense, safer than the Glock because of the grip safety)
Springfield Armory XDm (poor choice for CCW, very good home defense, great range/competition gun, and, again, I like the grip safety)

Hmm. Have a Glock 19, so that may answer the question. Picked that one because it's relatively small, light, easy to maintain, easy to carry concealed, reliable, holds bunches of bullets, and I shoot it reasonable well at the distances I expect I might need to.
Prior to carrying that, I carried a bigger, heavier pistol with eight rounds of .45ACP on board. Shot that thing better, in terms of absolute precision, but just a tad slower. Didn't like the idea of potentially having to reload it in the midst of a fight, and then having only seven more rounds at my disposal, for a grand total of fifteen. In comparison, thirty-one rounds for the Glock seemed better, especially since the switch was partly work related.

I have a S&W M&P 9mm with 4.25 barrel, Wife has S&W M&P 5.0 barrel and they are fun and easy to keep up.

It would be a tough choice between my H&K P-30 and My CZ-75 SP01.
I guess it depends if I would be carrying or not.

Last 9mm was (you guessed it) a Glock 19.
My next may well be a Kahr polymer 9 though (easy to pack).

Actually I DO only own 1 9mm, a Kahr PM9.
Were it required to be a larger weapon I would think XD9 or Glock 17 or 19 would be good but I would probably go for an HK P7

It is a good balance between being large enough to shoot well and small enough to conceal with the right holster. It also has a four inch barrel, which allows me to carry it when deer hunting (Tennessee requires a minimum four inch barrel when carrying a handgun when hunting big game). The Glock 19 makes a good range gun and also is fun for hiking in the woods or riding four wheelers. It is nice to have a light weight handgun when out in the woods that has 15 rounds on hand before reloading. It handles bad weather when in the woods with no problems. It has been dropped outdoors, wiped off, and put right back in it's holster. The 19 makes a fine car and house gun too.

My choice would have been much different a few weeks ago but now I'd have to say my EMP. Just right for my needs
