Heads Up- Browning Abolt 2 Medallion 308

Thought I would share this. Looking around GB last week at 308's. Found a Browning Abolt 2 Medallion in 308. What caught my eye is it has a 26" barrel. Called Browning and asked about them. I was told they made/making 340 of them, as a special run. 1:12 twist rate. Don't know if they will...

    Epic Fail Observation Today

Just an observation, but I also wondered about the leadership of the organization- or lack thereof. I had to go onto a private island today for work. The private armed security guard, at the gate, had 2" nails glued onto her fingertips. I wondered as I eyed her Glock, exactly how she intended...

    I wouldn't mind having one........

Swiss made 1911, looks really sharp. http://www.astra-arms.ch/daytona Closest distributor is in Canada. I'm sure there is some sort of import restrictions in place or they would already be on the market here.

    Holiday Knife Pic Thread

Came across my Crown Royal bag in the safe.... Thought about the fact that I hadn't seen a knife pic thread in awhile.... Well, all I can say is, good things are in CR bags. :D Wish the pic was better.

    Mikhail Kalashnikov turns 90 today

Who knew. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8353800.stm He wanted to build a better weapon after seeing the Germans had better weapons during WW2. I think he succeeded. Actually, I've never shot one. Any of you folks out there want to post some pics, please do so.

    Browning BT-99 owners, A Question

Do the newer models with the 32 or 34 inch back bored barrels shoot significantly tighter patterns with a full or extra full choke, than most other shotguns with the full choke or an extra full choke? Based on your experience. At say, 15 to 25 yds. Thanks

Videcki. Is Greider Precision the Same?

Heard they bought the tooling Videcki had. Curious if anyone knows if they are the same triggers, better triggers, or not as good? I've got a long trigger I want to change to short.

    Winchester 101 or Browning Citori?

I'm thinking ahead- like about 6-7 months ahead, when my tax return check is in hand. Although I fear it may not be big enough to get either one. A man can dream right? I like the Brownings- Lightnings, Gran Lightnings, Classics. The ones with the rounded knob grip. But I like the 101's...

    Why I don't use Loctite on Mounts/Rings

I recall a few threads asking whether one would use Loctite or not. This is what I had to do to get a mount off of a rifle that someone mounted by Loctiting the screws. No big deal really, but it's good to be aware of the potential issues before they pop up. I got one screw out, the other...

    Rebarrel or Cut and Crown?

Been on the fence on this one for a good while. I've got a Model 70 Coyote with some barrel damage. It's a 24" medium heavy stainless. I know a cut and crown is the cheaper way to go, but I've been thinking... And thinking may get expensive  I've thought about replacing the barrel...

    My New Truck Gun

Did a bit of horse tradin this morning. Ended up with this. German made, 4 mags, case, booklet, factory target, set of Hogue grips. Other than some minor handling marks, and boogered up grip screws, it looks brand new. Previous owner said he only ran 2 boxes of ammo through it, I didn't...

    Federal Red Box Ammo

Must be new packaging, heckava price though. Popped into Wallyworld, as I was waiting for another store to open this morning. Went to sporting goods and was noticing the rifle ammo. 243, 7mm Mag, and 308 each at $13.00 and change. Even the 6 or 7 empty spaces next to it were marked $13.00 and...

    Tell me about the 25-06

I notice them every now and then. I saw one today, a Sako TRG-S, for a fair price. I'm in 6 calibers :what: now, I'm not certain I "need" :D to get into another. Basically be a deer rifle if I do, and prob end up reloading for it at some point. Would like to hear real info, pros and...

    Remember Curry Bullets?

Anyone loaded and shot these enough to comment on the quality or lack of? I picked up several boxes, and can't really find a whole lot on them. I figure they are 1950's 1960's?

Why buy a Browning BPS in 410?

I've got a friend who wants to sell one, it's a grade 3 with nice wood and engraving. He's asking $700.00. Unfired, NIB. For me shotguns are used for special purpose, deer, ducks or doves. And anymore, that means a couple of times a year, if that. Come to think of it, I don't think I've...

Hunting Rifle Sight In Time .257 Bob

Just a reminder, it is that time of year. I've been shooting a few, including one this morning that I hadn't shot- ever. I have a habit of picking up different kinds of ammo in the calibers I shoot as I come across them. One thing, if it doesn't shoot well in my rifle, it doesn't really...
