I've been thinking about another hammer & looking for one that's DAO but have not had any luck.. I understand Ruger can provide another hammer but you have to send the gun in to them so they can properly fit the hammer..
Anyone have a non Ruger source for a DAO hammer?
Well, after all the "constructive" advice, I decided to try the SP 101 in a Galco Ankle Glove holster & the calf strap (trust me just get the strap when you buy the holster - you'll need it to keep the cannon from sliding all the way down to your shoe after even the smallest amount of walking)...
Well as the title says I'm trying to decide whether or not to bob the hammer on my SP 101.. If I do cut it off I'll want to get rid of the single action notch on the hammer as well.
After having it for a while I just can't see any reason to keep the hammer/single action. I have other guns I...
125 Gr Federal or Hornaday. Fired in my SP 101 the muzzle blast is just WOW!! Reminds me of shooting 180 gr JHP's in my 44 magnum.
I don't shoot many of them for practice that's for sure.
Here in Western KY the only thing the walmarts ask is if the ammo is for a handgun or rifle (if appropriate for the caliber). No requests for DL #'s ever - yet.
I have 2 NC star tactical scopes. One on a 10/22 Ruger & another on an AR.. Both are doing well for the plinking I do. If I shot the AR in competition I'd go w/an ACOG but that'd be crazy $'s for my use.
I live in KY & have had a CDW permit for over 10 years. I never used to carry open.. Always found myself checking my gun & making sure it was "hidden" ... I really did not know open carry was legal until the past year. Since it's legal I decided to start open carrying more frequently.
I tell...
Makes me like KY more & more.. W/a CCW permit there's not even a call in required :D. Just fill out the 4473, pay your $ & walk out the door. Want more than 1 gun @ a time, no problem, how much do you have to spend?
You might want to seriously look into Kentucky - I'm biased :)..
RTKBA - A CCW (includes guns, auto knives & impact weapons) permit is easy to get presuming no serious problems in your past. Open carry is totally legal & not @ all unusual to see people carrying. The permit is reciprocal in...
I'll admit to liking the 9mm S&W Sigma.. Accuracy is fine, trigger is good enough for a carry gun, light weight, 16 rounds in a 4" gun & the price is around $400..
I think I know what not to do again (I should say "hope")..
The question I have now is how to get the broken pin out as it's basically snapped off flush.. Anyone w/any ideas??
Thanks

I had a stuck case in my 223 die (Lee) & in the process of getting it unstuck I snapped off the decapping pin.. Trouble is it broke off almost flush.. There's less than 1/16 sticking out & I can't grab it to pull out.
Any one have any suggestions?
Thanks

Can't carry to & from work.. I carry as soon as I get home - in & out of the house. Been open carrying lately, @ first felt kind of strange about it but getting more comfortable. DW has no issues w/carrying & just passed her CCW class. I'm blessed.
22 ammo update
A friend traveling home just called to let me know that the Bass Pro in Knoxville TN has no 22 long rifle "bricks", no 45acp, no 9mm, no 223 ammo on the shelves/backroom/or warehouse... Whats' w/the run on 22LR?? I can see where it'd be possible for the 45, 9 & 223 to be getting...

Sounds like all went well for you.. :D
Your OODA loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) was working well & had good timing. Afterall, it ended up w/all going home safely. What's to not like about that!!
