I just bought a used 10/22 and I have it "field stripped" but I would like to take apart the bolt and give it a good cleaning. The manual doesn't give any bolt disassembly instructions. The only thing I see is a roll pin that looks like it holds the firing pin in place. I was going to try and pound it out then go from there. If I do this, am I going to break anything or is there an easier way to go about it?

Take the barrel and receiver off the wood. Remove the trigger assembly in one piece by removing the dowel pins and dropping the whole assembly out the bottom of the receiver. Then the bolt and recoil spring is pretty easy to get out. It is however a little harder to reassemble unless you get it lined up just right. Have a little patience and it will go together fine. I can send you a breakdown from my manual if you don't have one. Ruger also has the breakdown online.

Thank you Milkmaster . I just looked at the manual on Ruger's site, there was a nice picture.

Other than on an initial teardown, I wouldn't go that far tearing down the bolt on a 10/22. Just remove it, hit it with some Breakfree PowderBlast, hit the bolt face with a nylon of brass brush, let it dry, put some CLP or other good spray lubricant on it and put it back together.
