I find myself burning threw alot of ammo and cant really afford it. I really wanna get a cz452 ultralux but i fear that that is a ways off. So till then i wonder. Is it possible to convert a 10/22 to optional single shot? Iv heard of jb bolt lock(exspensive) and a little magnetic piece that you stick in the bolt. Id use my thumb but i would imagine after 50rnds it will get awful sore. Is there perchance a way of DIY makeing a single shot conversion? Or another cheap way of getting the same results?

I'd just take a little more time between each shot. You could remove the mag, and stick one in the chamber for each shot.

Trade with someone that has a bolt action rifle of the same value and that wants a semi instead of a bolt action.

All you'll do is bubba your 10/22 resulting in a reduced value for it when you finally admit defeat and sell it. And it still won't be what you want.

Some of the Savage bull barrel rifles with the Accutrigger are superb shooters. And they are a lot less money than the admittedly lovely looking CZ's.

What about a NEF or Rossi Single shot? Cheap, reliable, and accurate. I have a Rossi with peep sights installed that I regularly out shoot a friend and his scoped Ruger 10/22.

You should be able to find a used one for $75 to $100, sometimes with an extra shotgun barrel.
