10 mm

I see no reason to question why others hold them so dear.

I wonder if anyone did that. My own comments were motivated by a desire to validate my personal interest in the caliber as a revolver round. I don't shoot silhouette, IDPA, et al anymore, some never, so the aspects of moon clip reloading, effectiveness on steel targets, and power factors don't apply to me.

9mm revolvers have had a tough time making a come back and there is a larger customer base for them.

Maybe so, but come back they did.

This is the year of the 9mm Revolver !

There are now more 9mm revolvers available from more manufacturers than ever before:

S&W with 2 offerings the 986 and the 929
Ruger with the LCR
Charter Arms with the PITBULL
Taurus with the 905 (blued & stainless)

And I'm going to count the Alfa Proj imports even though Dan Brown has been super behind schedule getting them so far.

Wasn't there a run of S&W 610s made with swappable cylinders chambered for .38-40 W.C.F.? Would this not make such a revolver a triple-caliber weapon?

Not sure what I would do with such a revolver. Get what you want, but I wonder what purpose it serves except for a handful of those who want smaller caliber, moonclip reloads for competition? Now it will be the year of half moonclips, while owners try to figure out how to conceal these things.

Huh no pleasing realgun lol
If I had a couple 9 mm autos I would pick up a revolver seeing that I already had the ammo. I like revolvers. I am a 380 fan and if there was a ruger 380 LCR coming out I would be in line for one... It might be a short line but I would standing in it :)

While I search for justifications in my purchases, addicted nonetheless, you want to buy stuff just because it's there. Get what you want and enjoy it.

I don't know if S&W did but Ruger made a run of 10mm/38-40 Blackhawk convertibles for Buckeye Sports back some years ago. Since it was in a single action revolver, the rimless case was no problem for ejection. The other plus is the strong frame could handle full power loads with no problem.

Thanks for your permission, we were waiting for that.

You're trolling again CraigC. I was explicitly allowing that people can do or buy what they want, never mind what I would do. It is absurd to suppose that I think or suggest that people need my permission.

Honestly though if your just going to pick apart why someone else enjoys the 10mm or how it fills a need in their collection, what's the point of starting a thread. It sounds like you have made up your mind about it. Really we could pick apart every caliber because everyone is lacking in one aspect or another. So in this thread people shared why they like it, you abviously believe their wants and or needs are not justifiable. End story.

CraigC fanboy stalking my posts.

Its all Good...

Maybe this thread gave me the last push I needed. I had thought about a 610 a couple of times but it either did not have the barrel I was looking for or the price was too high. Anyway I saw a NIB Ruger 10mm/38-40 and made what I thought was a fair offer. I am picking it up today or tomorrow! :D

Nice hope to see range reports. I have never had a lot of interest in 10mm but started searching on gunbroker for a glock. Just looking for now. A friend of mine has a couple 10mm one being a glock. Pretty sure its his preferred gun to take camping.

Just got a call that it came in. Very happy with the appearance as it looks unfired. That I will fix in the upcoming week! :D
