$100 optic choices for an ar15?

I'm currently in the same predicament. I just placed my order for my Colt SP6940, and I'm looking around at a couple of different options for low priced optics. The gun pretty much took up my entire budget, and I don't plan on using it to fight a war with, so Aimpoints and EOtechs are out of the question. The main purpose will be for plinking at ranges of less than 100 yards.

The two options I'm looking closest at are Primary Arm's M4 clone and Truglo's multi reticule open red dot. Not really sure if I would rather a tube sight or not. The PA M4 seems to get really good reviews, and the fellow that runs Primary Arms seems to be a real stand up guy. However I also like the smaller physical size of the Truglo sight, and they offer a lifetime warranty. Decisions, decisions...

I pretty much had the same issue which is how I ended up with an inexpensive 4x fixed scope AND a Bushnell Trophy dot that I got on sale (both for under $200). If you're only shooting 100 yards you don't need high end optics. That's something you can save for down the road. In the meantime work on your iron sight shooting.

While in the Military I shot my M16A1 out to 350 + yards on ocassion and it was a matter of practise and reading wind and range.
If you have a spotter and some ammo you can get very good with irons.
Take the money you have and save it for some really good optics like an ACOG. in a year of pocket change and taking your lunch to work you can save a lot of cash.
It beats going cheap and regretting it later.

Gordon, now you have me interested. Do you have a link or reference to it being made in Japan? I've been looking for a budget 1-4x and haven't been able to find one that seemed well enough built without getting into a $400 scope. If this is Japan made, I'm going to pick one up.

EDIT: Gordon, after a bit of research it appears to have been designed in Japan and then made in China. I think I'm going to pass still.
