Wow, the switch from Glocks to the Kimber was a GREAT idea...Glock fan that I was, knowing some gloom, doom, and prepare for the the world to end types; I was a bit worried about the Kimber. I purchased a TLE II on a whim, and fell in love with the trigger, ease of concealability etc, but these gloom types worried me about the Swartz safety, and finiky magazines. So ran a 100 rounds through it with the OEM mags, bought a bunch of Wilson mags, and have been carrying the gun (not a good idea w/o a better break-in, but hey...) dirty and all.
Local smith sells quality reloads, and I bought 1000 with the plan of finishing breaking the weapon in, picking the most reliable mags, and increasing my confidence in the weapon.
Didn't shoot for groups, just IA drills, double taps, rapid fire etc...1000 rounds no cleaning and NO issues...it doesn't care which mags, doesn't care which brand ammo...just likes to go bang...think I've got a keeper...and a daily carry I am totally confident in!
Now just gotta find a Warrior (rail) for bedside...and yes I did finally clean my now beloved TLE II :)

Yes, the anti-Kimber hype has grown so big, people are surprised and almost feel 'let down' when they come out of the box and do exactly what they are supposed to.

Mine had no malfunctions during the first few hundred rounds either. The only malfunctions I can recall at all were when I tried some stolen G.I mags of unknown history in it. I threw them away.

I have a Kimber Pro CDP II that has ran 100%. I am definitely sold on buying a Kimber again. I love the trigger and frame/slide fit of mine. No problems whatsoever. And, as much complaining that I've heard about the Series II safety, I've had no problems with mine.

Congratulations.

The TLE II seems like one of the better values in the Kimber line-up and apparently they work well too.

Yep. I love my CDP Pro as well. I've got countless rounds down range and I absolutely love it. I do question carrying around a $1,000 carry gun sometimes and am looking for a replacement for my daily carry. I've been keeping my eye on the Sig P238....not that $600 is any better...

FWIW, I do think that the problems related to Kimber 1911's is grossly exaggerated as are most 1911 issues. Makes for good fireside chat however.

Never sell it. I mean not for 100 grand. I don't know what kind of moon rock alloy they made yours out of, but it's the only one...LOLOLOL
