Let's see...

Per Dave McCracken, I'd get one slightly beat-up police trade-in Remington 870, and roughly 2500 boxes of ammo (62,500 shells). :D

Good luck finding one for less than $10K. If you did, most likely it would be "shooter grade."

I saw one used only by a state trooper unit in top condition on Impact Guns for exactly $10,000

Well, I could probably spend the ten grand if given enough time to think, but off hand I can only think of a few things I would really like to have and I could afford them now without the 10k. I just haven't taken the effort to do it.

New safe (about $3500)
Good spotting scope
Stuff to shoot a rifle for accuracy off a bench: bags and a rest
45 Colt set up for my Dillon 550 loader
A few good scopes
I could probably spend the rest sending the guns I already own away to have custom work done on them. I have a couple dozen very little things I would like done that probably wouldn't cost $100/each. And I would like to have two 1911s melted and night sights installed by Clarks. I have at least three rifles that I would like to get new barrels, new stocks and a complete accuracy/action job done on.
That would probably pretty easily take care of 10 grand. I knew I could do it if I put my mind to it.

quote;Barrett M82A1

Im down with that too.

For me to save 10k Id spend it on other firearms before reaching that amount but if 10k dropped in my lap Id go for the Barrett

A Sako TRG 42 with all the trimmin's, and about 6,000 rounds of match-grade ammo.

And a Python.

And a lot of M1 from the CMP, and an M14.

plus optics.

Heh.

Heh, heh.

Let me count the ways....

1. Custom rifle, built to the following specs:
Nesika Bay or Stolle action, Kreiger barrel, chambered in .308 and throated to 168 gr. MatchKings, with a McMillan A4 stock, and a Jewell trigger. Top it off with a US Optics SN-3 or perhaps a Schmidt und Bender 5-25 PM II scope. That will do for about 6K.

2. Colt Special Combat Gov't for a new duty gun. Tasty, tasty!
3. A Magma Master Caster, with molds for all my cast bullet calibers;
4. (dirty little secret wish coming up!) A Sharps, done up in fancy Claro walnut with all the nice trimmings, a spirit level sight and a tang sight, chambered in .45-120--and at least 500 cases, and all the goodies needed to make paper patched bullets!

What's left can go on reloading components. Yeah, baby! :D :D :D

Edited to add: I might go with a regular blueprinted action for the rifle, or scratch the SCG Colt, if I can find a minty fresh Luger to play with. Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!

if I had $10K

I would buy 2 guns
A Sig P239 in 9mm
Colt DS
CCW leather for each
Lifetime NRA membership
2000 rounds of ammo for each

and finally, I would spend the rest on my tuition- because I am broke:cuss:

4 Colt Single Action Armies in desired caliber and barrel length.
Colt AR-15
4 Kimber/Colt 1911s
2 Winchester M70s in desired calibers.
Might skip one of the 1911s and get a Colt Python or a couple S&W M27s.

$10,000 ...now I can afford an HK or a Sig:)

Definately an M14

A new 1911, probably a Colt

Then I would go to a gun show and be like a kid in a candy store.
