All,
I've read a few of the "another 10mm question" threads and had one occur to me:
Does anyone make (factory or 'smith) a widebody 10mm based on the 1911 style (i.e. no Glocks, Sigs, or for the most part S&Ws)?

I've gotten kind of fond of the user interface of the 1911 but am looking over some 10mm and some hi-cap options, but haven't seen anything combining the two.

STI and SV make widebody 10mm guns. Para-Ordnance .40 S&W widebody guns can be easily converted to 10mm Auto just by reaming the chamber or replacing the barrel. Caspian high-capacity frames can also be used to make 10mm guns with converted Caspian .38 Super magazines, too.

I've actually shot a SV 10mm double-stack. Pretty impressive piece of hardware.

Look around over at www.1911forum.com. There's 'smith who posts frequently who does alot of Para conversions. Evidently, change the barrel, make sure it the lockup is timed correctly, change the recoil spring and you're set to go. Most of the posts I've seen use the Para P16.40. Factory .40 mags even work ok from what I've read (you just have to be careful about OAL if you handload).
