People say the Blue Dot powder produces a lot of flash.
I tried some in 10mm and get little to no flash. Wonder if i am loading
too light? My 2400 loads were downright spectacular, much like the
Winchester Silvertip.

Anyone shoot 200 gr. Hornady XTPs? What is good ammo for deer hunting
with the 10MM?

I would suggest that you look at www.doubletapammo.com for top-notch factory ammo. For reloads, 2400 is a terrible powder for 10mm, but BD is great. What grain bullet? What charge were you using? What primer? Also what OAL?

Hey CZF,

I have tried some other powders like 2400 and Unique, but Blue Dot seems to work the best for my Megastar 10mm. Actually, I never liked 2400 much anyway; it always seemed to leave a lot of dirty residue behind. By the way, what pistol are you shooting in your photo? I cannot make out just what it is.

Best wishes,

I've had some very good results with AA #9 and the Hornady 200 gr. XTP-HP bullet.

As usual, be very careful with full power or max loads. A load that was safe as far as pressures in my G20 w/a Bar-Sto bbl. was not so safe in my Colt Delta Elite.

I experienced no damaging results but due to the lack of support in the OEM Colt barrel compared to the Bar-Sto in the Glock, brand new Star Line brass expanded and bulged to the point that they had to be discarded after only one firing. :(

In the picture, it looks like CZF's firing a Witness (with the silvery-gray "Wonderfinish.")
