I like the Glock 20SF ... Perfect for woods carry and open carry ...
With UW 180gr GD or UW 200gr XTP

I have a Kimber TLE. And love it. I'm biased when it come to the 1911/Glock question. It is a tough choice and ultimately comes down to which do you see most in your mind when you picture yourself performing the various tasks on your list?

I recently acquired the XDM 10mm OSP version. It’s a great pistol. Good ergos, and soft shooting. Full disclosure: I am an XD fan and own several after getting rid of all my Glocks. Not a Glock basher...I just shoot the XD platform better. YMMV....

Came here to report this. I wish I had held out for an OSP, but the 5.25 inch XDm 10 that I have is, in my opinion, my best Semi-Auto Pistol and this is a collection that includes G19/G22, P320's, Sig P227 and USP 40 and 40C. The USP's are very close, I don't think they have quite the accuracy although barrel length and types of sights is certainly a factor.

I love the 15 round magazines, the quality sights, great ergos, the thing is reliable as a rock and I believe the "Match" stamped on the barrel with my 25 yard accuracy results. So far, I only really shoot 650+ Ft Lb ammo since I bought this thing to be a bruiser and it loves it, actually manages to be manageable if a bit loud with top power pistol loads. I'll never sell the 5.25, will probably pick up another OSP version in 10 or .45 (or both) someday.

10mm is a great woods caliber if you reload. I have been very disappointed with off the shelf loads. Buffalo being the only exception it's great stuff. Most off the shelf feels more like 40 S&W. I bought a Delta Elite in the early 90's it was good while it lasted but the 1911 style frame took a real beating under the 10. Today I'm happy with a Glock and if I wanted a really built 10 I would put one together from the ground up.

No love for the gp100 in 10mm?

In addition to the Springfield XDm-10 in 5.25, I have a Ruger Blackhawk convertible with .40/10MM cylinders and I really like it. The XDm-10 seems more accurate but the 6.5" barrel on the RBH has managed 1500 Fps with a near max load of Power pistol and a 155 grain Sierra TMJ bullet which is a nice, fat 775 ft/lbs! I'd love a GP100 in 10MM but the Single Action Black Hawk is fine for the kind of target shooting I do, although to date the XDm has been more accurate.

I just picked up the XDM 10MM Springfield this morning. Not the OSD version though.

Welcome to the world of XDm-10. Best looking, best shooting, big fat magazines :)

The factory sights with the fiber insert are all metal and excellent, I think you'll be happy when you get it to the range.

I love my TRP in 10mm but seeing the XDM I am getting a real bad itch to buy one. I do not think hydrocortisone cream will take care of this itch. I'll need to buy another safe as well, problems, problems, problems ....sigh!

I dumped the XDM and went back to the G20. Just didn’t get to likening the XDM and accuracy was not as good as my last G20 was. So, I sold it and picked up a Gen 4 G20 under the Blue Label program. Took the extra money I saved under the Blue Label program and purchased a KKM barrel for increased accuracy and better chamber support for longer brass life

No, only an XDm or 3 will scratch that one

They look better in person and the factory barrel and sights can be left on!

I am planning to build a Polymer 80 G20. For a couple of reasons. The Polymer 80 frames have a less rakish angle on the grip than a regular Glock. And SO I HAVE BEEN TOLD, a Glock is better at running full-house or 10mm lite loads without having to tweak it.

I may still pick one of those up. the capacity is nice.

Yes, I recommend handling one if you get a chance as they look even better in person. They used to run good sales prices on the 4.5" XDm-10 although an OSP or 5.25 with the adjustable Metal sights is always a plus and still competitive with the other major offering. I've been seeing good prices on the .45 ACP version of the 5.25 and I really, really want one.

Here's my 4.5 inch .40, I shoot this one with full power reloads a lot it's significantly more accurate than my G22 and the brass comes out in excellent shape.
