Looking at ads tuther day I ran across a listing and photo for a 123 grain round nosed soft point 7.62x39 from one of the former Yugo outfits. Bullet looks almost like one of the old .30 carbine SPs in that it is rather blunt.

Anyone tried this from a SKS or AK varient or even one of the bolt guns currently being discussed here abouts?

Looks like it has Southern whitetail deer written all over it with small print assuring that pigs would not like it either. Just wondering.

I still have some Hanson marked 7.62x54 SP still from when my wife bought me an M44 before they became generally available and would not mind some reasonable performing x39 hunting ammo for the more modern guns.

I have never use Prvi Partizan Ammunition 7.62x39mm RN in an AK, but I really like it for my CZ 527 carbine . It is cheap and accurate.

I suspect it will be good for Wisconsin deer too.

The RNSP Prvi jammed up in my 7.62x39 AR w/ M-4 feed ramps... single fed they were pretty accurate, IIRC.

The Prvi 7.62x39 RNSP is a very interesting load. First of all, they are significantly hotter than any other AK ammo I have chrono'd.
They run great through my Saiga and my Yugo O-Pap. No jams or any other issues. Across the chrono = 2,429 fps. Hornady SSTs ran 2,126 fps. Federal Fusion run 2,262 fps.
WPA = 2,308. Tulammo = 2,266

So, as you can see, a little warmer.
They hold together pretty good in some water jug testing. Much better than the SSTs which fragmented. Fusions were the best.

I've heard it works fine in an AK but is finicky in an SKS. One SKS will run it, and another won't. I like it because it would be an ideal hunting round. I may use it for deer hunting at some point.

I run Yugo brass case 123gr ball ammo through my Ak and Mini 30 without issues it comes in a sealed green wood box(1260rounds)and a sealed in a tin with 15 rounds to a box,bought 6 cases on sale for 259.00 a case 3 yrs ago now it's around 335.00 a case.
