Just 2 days ago, one of my friends/coworkers was talking about how impressed he was when he visited this school and he's trying to get his son in...

Police say a man shot a 17-year-old boy during a fight at an Albuquerque preparatory school Friday morning.

Police say the teen arrived at Bosque School Friday morning to visit a female friend. The boy is not a student at the school, which is located at 4000 Learning Road, near Coors and Montano NW.

Officers say the girl's father arrived and confronted the teen in the school's parking lot, saying he did not want the boy seeing his daughter.

A fight began and, according to police, the teen started beating the man with a baseball bat. Officers say the teen then pulled out a gun and threatened the man.

During the struggle, the father got a hold of the gun and the teen was shot in the arm.
The 17-year-old was transported to University Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.

Officers immediately detained the girl's father for questioning. It was not clear whether he would face charges.

Administrators at Bosque School say the incident did not disrupt classes for students.

Uhhh...the 'kid' was beating the father with a baseball bat, then pulls the gun on him. The father manages, through some miracle, to get a hand on the gun and the kid takes one in the arm.

The father now faces charges?

Sounds like there is more to this than a short article can explain.

It only happened about an hour ago, but you're right. it certainly sounds like there is a lot more going on here.

It was not clear whether he would face charges.
The teen should be facing charges of assault, battery, and attempted murder just for starters.

OUCH. Now there's a visual I could have lived without :)
