Looking to add another pony to the stable and I was looking at a 1911 style
.45.So many out there how do you chose.:confused:I have no real need or purpose
for one I already own a Golck 20(side arm for pig hunts),and a Taurus 945(H/D).I have a intrest in the 3 gun thing but I think the Glock would work for that but I see alot of 1911s out there. Money isn't that much of a factor because I'm on no time frame(I can save up) but I would like the most bang for my bucks.

Thank in advance:)

check out the sa line, they got a 1911, for any an everyone, that can serve in any kind of capacity, defense, collection, plinkingm, competitions, tactical applications, custom modles etc.

Taurus PT1911 would be worth looking at. Lot of bang for the buck. Bud's has a good price on the stainless one right now.

When you say "pony" I think Colt.

When you say 1911 I think Colt.

A Colt is always the right answer!

And when it is not, Springfield has a wide range of products from mild to wild. They also have outstanding customer service to back up that product.
ALSO, they have a top rated Custom Shop that will modify your quality 1911 anyway you see fit. Very quick turnaround. :)

Since I don't know what 1911s are approved for sale where you live, I can say that as far as manufacturers go, I've always had great success with Colt and Springfield Armory, as far as 1911s are concerned. Some others to consider: Wilson, Les Baer, Kimber, S&W, SIG, Para Ordnance, Dan Wesson, and RIA. As someone else posted, you can go from mild to wild with any of these guns; it's pretty much up to you what way you want to go with it.

calichoked,

You said "pony", so I would recommend a used MKIV Series 70 from the late 1970s or early '80s. The more wear, the cheaper the price. They are excellent and fun to shoot and tinker with. One of these will cost you in the $300 to $500 range, depending on condition. I bought a used Ser-70 from 1979 in 85% condition for $475. But this baby had adjustable sights, beavertail grip safety, lowered and scalloped ejection port (forget the name), and other enhancements. I assume you are not looking for a collector's item. That would be a whole other kettle of fish.
