I know I have read somewhere that others have the same issue with their S&W 1911e shooting 6" high and 4" left. I have the same issue with mine. I bought it new 3 years ago and hardly shot it due to this aggrivation. I recently ordered a set of sights from Dawson precision and wondered if anyone here
1. Had the same issue
2. If they fixed it
3. What they did to fix it
4. Ever used Dawson products.

Any help is much appreciated

Dawson is a class operation. Their web site has a sight height calculator. Did you use it before ordering or did you just order a generic set of sights?

I ordered the sight set they recommended based on make and model of my pistol.

Hopefully they will be closer than the factory sights, but no guarantees. A pistol zero is more individual than a rifle zero. What shoots to poi for one person might not for another. Of course, the windage is moved by drifting the sights in their dovetails.
If you are still shooting high or low with the new sights, use Dawson's calculator and order the rcommended height front sight.

Maybe. I used to shoot steel sillouete and bullseye. Been shooting pistols for 2 decades. My 1911 has a comp on it making it a very smooth shooter. It's just inaccurate. If I hold low and right I hit center and group very well even with my cast lead 230 gr round nose. A Google search produced many forums where a member is having my same issue. One even sent his pistol to S&W. When he got it back, it was doing the same thing. He replaced the sights and resolved his problem.

Yeah, was worse without it. In fact 3 different people have shot the thing in the past 2 weeks, all of us with almost exact POI vs POA. All 4 of us run the range and shoot thousands of rounds a year. We all agreed that I should drift the rear and see what happens. I was able to correct the windage significantly but not elevation. That night I ordered the Dawson set. I ordered the night sights that they recommend specifically for the S&W 1911e. Hopefully I will have minimal fitting. Older I get the less patients I have for details. I just want to shoot n have fun

Got the Dawson sights today. Installed and range report next weekend. [emoji107] cuz I gotta work this weekend. They look a lot better and I can aquire them faster and easier than stock. Hope they solve my problem.
