Packing 57gr of powder behind a .224" bore is about like cramming a turbocharged 454 big block into a go-cart, sure it can be done, but why? The chassies cannot handle the power and neither can the .224" bore. 22-250 is about the most overbore cartrage I could imagine making a case for, and even that is pushing it. .22cals make piss poor "sniper" rifles, those bullets lack the ballistics for true long ranged shooting no matter how fast you push them. 6mm is the smallest caliber I would even consider for long ranged work, and it is easly trumped by the slightly larger 6.5mm and 7mm for that task.
