Went by mt local Wally World yesterday and went by the ammo counter. Well, I happened to look at the price on the bricks of Federal .22 and they have gone from $15.47 up to $19.97! WTH Wamart???? Has anybody else noticed the increase at your Walmart?

Ben

That sucks! I remember buying them for $13.47 about 2 years ago. It's still not as bad as shooting centerfire, but it just keeps going up....

I don't know about the .22 but I usually get my 9mm range ammo there. Federal was 10.97/50 or WWB for 21.97/100. They have both went up $2.00 since last week

I can't afford the gas to drive to Wal Mart any more. The price of EVERYTHING is going up....why should ammo be special?

Not only am I seeing price increases on ammo in the past week or so I'm also seeing (on the internet) some ammo is getting hard to find. Something is starting to make the ammo market go nuts again. I'm wondering if the possible November elections are starting to have an impact. A few weeks back I thought 223/5.56 would be pretty easy to get at a decent price considering the pullout from Iraq.

The 22 federal here in kansas was 17.97 two years ago, now its 18.97. It's been twenty years here since it was under 9 bucks. I have 3 boxes of the federal 550 that I bought 12 years ago at walmart and it was 13.50 then.

Price is a subject of supply and demand. Demand keeps going up and supply is restricted by manufacturing costs associated with rising costs of gas and raw materials. Hence, price goes up.

It sucks, but as long as we're willing to pay it to shoot then the price isn't going to come down. Will .22LR is just a matter of "biting the bullet" and paying the price, I can honestly say that without reloading I'd have to SERIOUSLY reduce the amount of centerfire shooting I do.
