.22 Rolling block rifle????

I was given a .22 rolling block rifle that was a family hand down and can't find it in any books and need help finding out who made it and if I can get parts. The only markings on it are PALMETTO, which is on the side of the reciever. It has a upland style stock. It has a oval D ring that lets the barrel be removed like a take down rifle. I'd post pictures, but the mexipixles are too large?

I've looked in Numrich with no luck. Anyone got any ideas??

Here's another one. On the other side there was something that must of opened the breech so it could be loaded. It's missing that and the firing pin. It was my granddads and I'd like to at the least some kind of info on it. I think it would only be right to fix it back and shoot it.

It doesn't have a serial # on it either that I have found?

It looks axactly like a Stevens #16 Crack Shot.
Palmetto may be store brand.

So how many different styles are there? I found one so far that's in 70% rating. It did show a picture of the lever that's missing on mine thankfully. Once again thanks a million for the help.

If you take it to a really good gunsmith, he can just whip up the parts you're missing, but it'll be a sucker punch to the wallet. Then again, if the thing is old and rare enough, that might be the only practical way to get it working again.

Okay it's not an 89... Sorry but it's definitely a Stevens. Quite similar to a Favorite.

I've spent a few hours looking threw google and have found out quite a bit about them. No luck on parts though! Nice to know a little about a gun that's been in the family for so long.

Stevens made two rifles called "Crack Shot"
The one with the underlever, as shown by loner5667, is a number 26.
The one you have is either a number 16 Crack Shot or possibly a similar model that was made by Hopkins & Allen.
Numrich does list parts for the #16 but has no exploded view on line.
Frank DeHass' "Single Shot Rifles" has much info on those and many others.

Maby you could order new parts from savage. I think most parts will be interchangable.

I've got the #16 with the lever operated breech. I need the lever and the firing pin so far. Numrich has the pin but not the lever in stock. So I'm searching now for the lever.
