I've tried Winchester 333, Remington Golden, and Federal bulk packs thru a Ciener unit in a Bushy A2. They all, even the Remington, have shot well when the adapter unit was clean and LUBRICATED. They all have failures to feed and eventually failures to extract when the unit gets dirty. Mine is good for 50 rds no problem. Somewhere between 50 and 100 it will start to mess up. The unit needs to be cleaned with a toothbrush and solvent to remove every bit of carbon and residue gunk sticking /mixing with the lube and fouling the system. I've tried running the convertsion unit dry (no lube). Big mistake. Trouble much sooner. Just taking the unit out and wiping it done with "gun oil" (I use CLP usually) around 75 rounds will extend to 150 to 200 total rounds before malfunction city returns.
Again, of the three major brands, they all seem about the same. CCI (4th brand) is a bit better. CCI usually chronographs at a bit (20 to 30 fps) higher velocity, so has a slightly greater recoil impulse and chugs along for a longer interval. Remington Bulk has always given me more rounds that fail to fire, not only in the Ceiner/AR converter, but also in Rugar MK IIs, Mossbergs, Ithica, and CZ rifles. My experience over 10 years and a couple dozen Remington bulk packs is what does fire is fairly consistent and reasonably fast in velocity. Federal bulk has given me (again, over 7 .22 platforms and ten years) the most lot to lot inconsistency. Still, I like it best and it almost never fails to fire. As far as I can tell, with any ammo, it's really a matter of how "hot" the ammo is (the hotter the better) and how fouled the unit is. Eventually, you run into problems.
So, clean and repeat.
