Anybody notice if the stock of .22 ammo is getting thinned out as well. i like to shoot Aquila's Super Max in either my Cheetah or 617 but was unable to find any from my usual online supplies.

I think Academy still has a decent selection of .22 ammo in my area, but that thought could change when I visit them tommorrow. :scrutiny:

Ya, it's been the last thing to hit. I went ahead and got a bunch of Aguila from Midway before they ran out, but that backfired, with the Aguila ammo showing signs of the QC guy being on meth. Dirty, inconsistent, some FTF's, not to mention the excess lead on the sides of the brass, etc. Them supermax HP's do wonders on a milk jug though, seem sweet for small game. What I would give to find a brick of Blazers though. All I see are some Golden Bullets and Green Tags. Wally World limits to 2 boxes of Minimags...ugh. K done rambling.

I hope people don't begin to realize that shotguns are the best home defense weapons. It's the only thing no one is thinking of yet for ammo.

Yes. When everyone started snatching up the centerfire rounds, people went, "well, I'll just stick to .22s." So now there's a lack of .22 ammo. Hooray.

No it is because i have been buying 500 CCI MiniMags at Walmart every couple weeks and hording it. They seem to always have it.

I told a very nice young man at the NRA Convention about six hours ago, "I really don't care. I don't want a .22."

Do you have a line on any large pistol primers?

.22s are good for games, shooting ground squirrels (or hedgehogs) or pretending you are shooting something else.

They make good poppers if you have a bonfire...

In East Tennessee, ammo supplies are low in general. Walmart has CCI, but tends to sell out of all the other 22 rimfires except shorts. But it is better than it was a month ago.

Some gunshops have quite a bit of ammo. Priced pretty high, maybe 30% or so higher than I would expect it to be. But I am loosing my reference points on ammo pricing with all the price increases.

I haven't seen any bulk packs of .22 ammo in Oregon in three months or more. The shelves are absolutely bare. Even the Mini-mags and Stingers that were relatively plentiful at WallyWorld a few weeks back are gone. I've taken to shooting the .22s because of the lack of 9mm ammo available, and I'm wagering that many many others have had the same thought, which is no doubt contributing to the shortage.

Scarce here too. I am cutting back on shooting it because I only have three bricks left. :(

Two of which are several years old, so I don't want to hear it.;)

The bulk packs have been somewhat scarce here for a few months now. There's always some on the shelves, just not the selection we've been used to.

At lot of the Aguila 22RF loadings seem to be in short supply. Aguila is not exactly a major ammop maker and it does not take a lot for them to run out. In any case, much of their line is specialty ammo.

Other brands are easier to come by.

My local WalMart and Farm and Fleet had a few bulk packs of generic 22LR available the last few times I stopped in.

ammo sold out in Orygun

Our stores in rural western Orygun are sold out of ammo. The shelves of Bi-Mart are bare as Mother Hubbard's cupboard. Not a round of .22. Still have a rack of PC long guns---none of those naughty black guns or pistols. All the web sites are sold out of anything good until June or Aug.

Fella's;

Around here, .22 rimfire has been scarce since earlier this year. However, now it seems that some of the larger gun emporiums are getting rimfire on the shelves. It's probably not going to be anything you're used to though. Fiocchi bricks at one store, but I've never seen it before. Federal bulk 525's at another at $20.00 ea, well over what I had been paying for Winchester PowerPoints.

It's obvious that the wholesalers are scrabbleing to find any sources they can to meet the market's demand. I'll not be surprised to see rimfire from anywhere on the globe in the future. Hell, I think Bangladesh could become a prosperous country if they just started to produce ammo there.

Oregon...

Yeah.

Afer reading posts on this matter, it seems that Oregon has got it worse than other states.

A little scarce around here too and price is way up.
Dick's had a sale a couple weeks ago. I got there 3 hours after they opened and it was gone.

My range has 2 50 gal drums for folks to throw their spent cases in. It's usually a good place to look for reloadable brass. Last week both barrels were about 1/3 full and it was all 22 brass. I think most folks just can't afford centerfire stuff right now--really sucks

Seems like (today) it depends on what I want and where I go. I can only speak for central Arkansas but I'll run that down.

The local Gander Mountain had more Federal Spitfire than I cared to count, but I think that's because that set a purchase limit. I've never tried the stuff and I haven't been buying it. The also have lots of Eley of various types. They had some powderless Aguila, too. If you're into magnum rimfire, I think they had plenty of it if you care to pay their prices.

Academy had some Remington golden bullet and CCI Green Tag. All the other pickings were slim. Side note: If you go looking for #11 percussion caps at either Academy in Pulaski county, I'm sorry but I couldn't help myself. If it's any consolation, I shouldn't need caps again for at least two years. I think I left a box of them at the Little Rock location, get it while it's hot!

The various Walmarts in central Arkansas and along HWY67 from Little Rock to Newport always have a little something, usually CCI but sometimes other brands. I rarely buy more than a box or two of MiniMags from them, and even that's rare. If Natchez doesn't raise their price on it too much, it was cheaper from them even after shipping. That's assuming Natchez ever gets anything in stock again other than .22LR shotshell.

Fort Thompson had a little bit of everything and some that few others have, like Fiocchi subsonic and Winchester of various types. Side note: they also had two nearly full pallets of other types of ammo, like 7.62 NATO surplus, .223, 7.62x39, .40S&W. It wasn't cheap but if you wanted it they had it. For guys like me who work weekends and can't get to gun shows, it's the only ticket.

I'll rent time at Don's range in NLR, but I won't buy ammo there so I couldn't tell you if they've got it or not. I'd have to sell my car just to be able to afford a box of what they're selling lately.

Haven't looked anywhere other than that. I have to shop around if I want something I don't have, but I can find it locally unless it's 1) bulk packs or 2) nobody carries normally anyway. Frankly, I've got more than I can shoot in a year of days anyway. I'm not buying anything other than subsonic 50/rounds at a time when I happen to be in NLR, which isn't that much.

In central Texas wally world is out of most, a few gun shops have a varied selection, but not a full stock, for a decent price, and one store has everything you could want for about 50% above regular prices.
