Seems like (today) it depends on what I want and where I go. I can only speak for central Arkansas but I'll run that down.
The local Gander Mountain had more Federal Spitfire than I cared to count, but I think that's because that set a purchase limit. I've never tried the stuff and I haven't been buying it. The also have lots of Eley of various types. They had some powderless Aguila, too. If you're into magnum rimfire, I think they had plenty of it if you care to pay their prices.
Academy had some Remington golden bullet and CCI Green Tag. All the other pickings were slim. Side note: If you go looking for #11 percussion caps at either Academy in Pulaski county, I'm sorry but I couldn't help myself. If it's any consolation, I shouldn't need caps again for at least two years. I think I left a box of them at the Little Rock location, get it while it's hot!
The various Walmarts in central Arkansas and along HWY67 from Little Rock to Newport always have a little something, usually CCI but sometimes other brands. I rarely buy more than a box or two of MiniMags from them, and even that's rare. If Natchez doesn't raise their price on it too much, it was cheaper from them even after shipping. That's assuming Natchez ever gets anything in stock again other than .22LR shotshell.
Fort Thompson had a little bit of everything and some that few others have, like Fiocchi subsonic and Winchester of various types. Side note: they also had two nearly full pallets of other types of ammo, like 7.62 NATO surplus, .223, 7.62x39, .40S&W. It wasn't cheap but if you wanted it they had it. For guys like me who work weekends and can't get to gun shows, it's the only ticket.
I'll rent time at Don's range in NLR, but I won't buy ammo there so I couldn't tell you if they've got it or not. I'd have to sell my car just to be able to afford a box of what they're selling lately.
Haven't looked anywhere other than that. I have to shop around if I want something I don't have, but I can find it locally unless it's 1) bulk packs or 2) nobody carries normally anyway. Frankly, I've got more than I can shoot in a year of days anyway. I'm not buying anything other than subsonic 50/rounds at a time when I happen to be in NLR, which isn't that much.
