257 Weatherby Vanguard S1. Sub 0.75 MOA accurate. About the same accuracy as the Ruger maybe slightly better. For comparison. Barrel is same length as the others. Even though the angle doesn't appear so.

Rem. 700 Classic 25-06. Just under 1 moa accurate, noticeably lighter. For comparison.
View attachment 1067510 Throat readings are nearly identical on these interestingly.
Wow, is that a ADL or BDL model? I'm a sucker for a wood stocked hunting rifle, that's why I have the Mossberg to fill that niche. I also recently got a Rem 700 BDL custom deluxe in 300 Rem Ultra Mag that I traded a 6.5 Grendel AR15 and a bunch of ammo for.

I'll bet that Rem 700 300 Ultra Mag is a heck of a rifle.

No have not seen them. Nor do I know if they would work with my stuff. BUT if I cant kill it with my Mark V and 120 gr. Partition, I have my Toyota.
They do require a tight twist rate of 1in8 or 1in7 though so I doubt your current rifles are that tight. But yeah, a 120gr partition will take out most things worth eating lol.

Here is an old 700BDL in 25-06 for you, with a period Weaver "tv screen" wide angle scope.

So it all started on new years eve 2021 (3 months ago) ... I ordered a Remington 700 complete long action with trigger and bolt, Magpul R700L hunter stock, Pacific Tool and Gauge Aluminum bottom metal floorplate, factory internal box mag, spring, and follower, PTG .200 parallel recoil lug and then got with McGowen Precision Barrels and ordered a 25-06, 1in7, 26in, fluted, threaded 5/8x24 barrel with matte bluing. I just today got the barrel after 8.5 weeks when I was quoted 12 so I'm happy. I threw on a Yankee Hill QD Muzzle Brake suppressor mount and a 30 cal Yankee Hill suppressor that dad has. Yikes, a braked 25-06  I hope you have some good electronic hearing protection, the 25-06 is the sharpest, loudest crack I've ever heard and I imagine if I was ever on a hunt with one and had to touch one off without ear pro, I'd be permanently deaf, that report gets into your bones. Not sure what it is about the 25-06 that seems significantly more abusive on the ears than others, but thats one i really dont like to be beside on the range for whatever reason...

Awesome setup though, looks great!

ETA: I feel stupid, didn't catch the last part about the suppressor, that would make all the difference :D

Yeah I haven't shot it yet with the suppressor, but with the small muzzle brake it's not too bad honestly... And the recoil is very tame... It's more than a piston driven 5.56 Such as my MCX but less than my 270 Winchester bolt action...

OP,that's a good looking rifle.I built my 25-06 back in 1987 and it's a 10 or 11 twist,so the new heavy bullets aren't an option.I run 100 grain Sierra Matchkings for varmint/target duties and 100 grain Nosler Partitions for deer hunting.Same POI for both bullets, and at 3250 FPS,it's very flat shooting out to 500 yards.Great cartridge, very hard to beat.

Thanks! I have been looking for 120gr Nosler Partitions myself...

Hello y'all. I thought I'd post an update as I have some updates after a year... I have since taken the Magpul stock off as I ruined it tried to inlet it further as the barrel was slightly touching the stock. I got a factory new Remington walnut stock and hand sanded it down to fit the barrel so that a dollar bill will just fit the whole way down the barrel.
Everything else is the same though.

Edit, I have since gotten some load data for Berger 135gr bullets directly from them so I'll have to get a scope mounted on here,(that's another thread in of itself lol, I'm still debating what I want on this one...) and test them out...

Pretty pretty. I gotta say, I think I like the walnut better…

Yes, I know I've said I'm a sucker for walnut more than a couple times here on THR on various postings. Although, I do like the Strata camo paint job on my 6.5 PRC rifle though!

I’m wondering (since it’s new and a bit odd because of its length vs weight) how the 90 gr Hornady CX would behave with that barrel. I’m going to have to build one like it I guess… haha

Hmm I bet it would be similar to the 100gr Barnes TTSX... I actually have a factory box of that stuff from Barnes that I really don't want to shoot until I get some bullets from them. Cause a 100gr copper .257 bullet should be a decent bullet. I haven't seen the 90gr Hornady ones yet either...
