Every once in a while, usually around "awards show" time, celebrities, and some commoners, wear particular pins to indicate how they feel about an issue (ex. "cancer").

We all know about how our 2A rights have been "infringed" upon. We all know that will very likely continue ... a little at a time. We all talk about how we could avoid it, and, at what point, we might take up arms.

In the meantime, we continue to lose more ground.

Nearly every time any of us tries to talk to an anti about the issue, it goes in one ear, and out the other. Most likely because many view the NRA as evil and as us as unwitting pawns.

If there were one pin, preferrably not associated with the NRA ... gold or silver ... which were a silhouette of a handgun ... revo or semi or both ... I'd wear it every day.

Maybe if each of us wore the same pin every day, no matter the activity, anti's and indifferents alike might get the sense that this is more than just a series of tantrums thrown by camo-wearing gun-nuts. Just a subtle way to show we are very concerned about 2A ... every day. At work, at school, at weddings, at funerals, at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, at holiday or any other types of parties, playing softball or billiards, and at church ... wherever ... whenever.

The pin would have to be a silhouette of handguns. Rifles or shotguns only perpetuate the myth that we'd be just fine without handguns ... and, miss the point. It would also have to be a silhouette of handguns as opposed to any other logo (ex. "2A") as those who have no clue, need one ... this is straight to the point.

Who knows, you might make a new friend.

Anyhow, I was just getting really upset with the way of things these days and no hope of the future. And, this kind of "came to me" and I thought I'd put it out there.

I've been searching for a Gadsden flag pin to wear, as a reminder that the Rights of Man are sacrosanct. So far, no luck; a Second pin would be a good substitute. After all, we know the Second supports all the others!:D

Good point made about pins/jlry being taken at airport.

I like the idea of a symbol, identify like persons, get curiosity up from others. I like the Hobo sign idea myself.

Ever seen the triangle inside the circle symbol ?
See what I mean?

I wear an American flag pin everday since the attacks. It reminds me constantly of what I stand for and what this country stands for and is all I need even to remind me of my 2A rights. I don't need to let everyone know how I feel. If they want to know they can ask me.

I haven't flown in a while ... they don't confiscate earrings now ... do they? I was talking about a pin with a very short stem and a back ... kinda like an earring ... but you wear it on your lapel (sp?) or shirt

I understand what you're saying. But, if you wear the pin where others can see it, then you are letting anyone else know how you feel.

Typically, when any of us sees a pin of the American flag, we presume that person is patriotic ... proud to be an American ... anti-gunner or not.

My point is that, maybe, if we feel strongly about our 2A rights, we should wear a pin which lets anyone know how we feel about that ... proud to be a gun owner.

The less we let others know about how strongly we feel, the more likely we will continue to lose what little 2A rights we have.

If you truly don't care to let anyone else know how you feel (and I doubt any stranger will ask), then why should any of your friends, neighbors, and/or relatives think twice to vote against your 2A rights?

Slightly OT, but... I have Always proudly flown the American flag in front of my house. It always vaguely irritated me that mine was the only flag on my block. Then came 9/11. Some of my neighbors were suddenly flying TWO! Now, guess how many there are on my block again. Yep, just mine. I don't know what to make of that re: the 2A pin, but...?

Although I voted always, I would probably just wear it often.

Regarding gun jewelry and airports - I have a freind who often wears a revolver pin (less than an inch wide). Last time he flew security harassed him about it. Didn't get all the details, but I will be seeing him this weekend.

Should I keep the pin off while I'm wearing my camos?
