Checking back in . . .
After some time (and experimentation, see below) version #1 is gowing on me. Put me down for 5, now, maybe more later. I'd like to show them at some gun shops to see if they have any interest in quanities, but want to be able to show them the real thing.
I still like the "Restore 2nd Amendment Rights" or "Second Amendment Rights" better. Over the weekend, I made one that looked OK (but low resolution) on my computer. I found that you can buy 8.5 x 11 sheets of magnet/paper that you can run through your printer and then cut to shape. $12 for 4 sheets. You can print 3 ribbons per sheet. I had to try it out. Well, it looked OK, but was kind of bland and fuzzy. I stuck it on my car next to a yellow "Support Our Troops" ribbon and drove around (including in some light rain). The experiment was not to judge reaction (there was none) but to see how it looked (bright blue on gray), etc.
Bottom line: Leave it to the professionals. Might last better if over-laminated to protect printer ink. Magnet sheet is thinner but OK for indoor use. This method might work if you really, really wanted only a few of a unique design.
Big thanks to GOT, Mattz357, oldfella, and others for making this happen.
