I hope it’s a good caliber because I’m stuck with it. I’ve spent too much money stocking up on .308 ammo to switch calibers. Oh well….

I was disappointed that our daughter was not born on 2/23 this year (ended up arriving on 2/28 ). My son was born on 9/19, so would have been a perfect set, haha.

Why would you celebrate the .30'06 on 308 day?

Because a .30-06 shoots a .308' bullet is my guess? Anyway, I was also hoping for a kid to be born on a cartridge or caliber day, (February 24, or at least 17) but missed it. I have one that's 5.28 and one that's 2.10. Not going for a third attempt!

I looked at ammo and guns yesterday. Thinking my next will be a .308. I was looking at a 6.5 Creedmore but ammo was over $50 for 20.

I suppose it’s fitting I’ve been loading some 308 lately then. New load with 168 gr Amax and either CFE 223 or IMR 4064. I’m kinda betting on the IMR but CFE has worked too.

I am still disappointed that my daughter wasn't born on April the first (ended up arriving on 3/31). My wife still claims she couldn't hold it for just one more day. I remain skeptical 52 years later.

Two cartridges that I once said I'd probably never have a need for are the 223 and the 308.Now I have 3 of each.I'd have to say the 308 is one of the best rounds there is.Versatile,compact,easy to load for,inherently accurate.It can't leap tall buildings in a single bound or stop a locomotive like the 6.5 Creedmoor can,but it still does ok.

I do like the .308. Easy to reload and accurate in the M1A.
However, my favorite is 30-06 for my milsurps.
