I got into reduced rifle loads for 30-06 a ways back and have a pound of SR 4759 for this use. Not being able to get my usual 110 grain spire points when everything went nuts, I ordered 1000 115 grain, .30 cal, round nose cast bullets. It looks like I'm going to be using cast bullets a lot so I got the Lyman Book with cast loads. The Lyman nor my Speer books have info on using 4759 with the 115 grain cast bullet. I'm looking for a velocity that's under 1800 fps (the limit of the bullet). I'm going to hazard a guess and say start with a 16 grain load of SR 4759. Am I on a safe track?? Is there a source for this info??

BTW I use reduced loads of 4895 for jacketed plinker bullets at about 2200 ft/sec. They feel great.

To summarize, I'm looking for:

Caliber 30-06
Bullet - 115 grain cast lead RN
velocity - about 1750 ft/second
Powder- ____ grains of SR 4759??

Thanks!!!!

My old Speer edition #10 shows 17.0 grains @ 1,590 fps to a max of 21.0 grains @ 1,980 fps with your SR 4759 powder.
