I have just converted my .223 to 300 black out. What would be a good load using Hodgdon 4198 with a Hornady 200 gr 30 cal. ELD-X bullet ? Cant find anything on this.. In fact it's difficult to find any loads for 300 black out in any of the reloading manuals. I'm just target shooting and plinking. Too old to hunt.

Hodgdon has a subsonic load for the 208gr Amax, 11.1gr H4198 @ 1050 fps. This is data specifically originated for subsonic use so you might be able to push it faster if you desire, how much is beyond me.
They list a load for a 180gr bullet from 16.7gr-17.6gr(compressed) @ 1590fps-1670fps.

Don’t know how much this helps, or if it even gets you in the ballpark. My load tool doesn’t have a listing for that bullet. Closest that I have is Hornady A-Max 208gn bullet with H4198. Max charge of 11.2gn, C.O.L. 2.260” for velocity of 1042 FPS. Max Pressure 18,800 CUP.
Nosler also has load data for a 220gr RNBT (C.O.L. 2.100”) and 220gr HPBT (C.O.L. 2.260”) H4198 Loads of 9.0 gr, 10.0 gr , and 11.0 gr. These are all good subsonic loads with the highest velocity at 1099 FPS.

Just sharing what I’ve uncovered. Have yet to load any Blackout rounds, but gathering the powders and bullets to start. I picked up Lapua Scenar L 220gr HPBT from grafs.com. Sample bullets showed them all at 220.0gr...no deviation from stated weight. It’ll be some time before I can share experiences, as I haven’t even broken in my barrel yet...just 10 rounds. Need more range time.

OK guys, got your messages and you were a BIG help. Thanks, I was in the ball park with your loads but wanted to verify
This forum is a great help,
Thanks again

Agree or disagree: Its ok to use H1498 11.1 gr. using Hornady 30 cal (300 blk out) 200 gr bullet ELD( Hornady)

I would expect you’re good to go with that. However, you’re right at the max load for a Hornady 208gr A-Max bullet. The load data starts at 10.0gr H1498 and moves to 11.1gr for that round. If it were me I’d be starting at 10.0gr and working up. As with every load I’ve done (only Handgun) I always start closer to, if not at the starting load...never start at max. Also, this load data specifies a 16” barrel with 1:8 twist. Primer was not specified. Recommend proceeding carefully.
