So i'm attempting to bump the neck on my once fired 300 win mag brass. I tried to seat the empty case into the rifle and it was tough fit, i had to push the bolt pretty hard to get it to close. So then i set Lee FL die just low enough to deprime and kept adjusting and fitting and adjusting.

I have 2 issues: First is when i forced the bolt closed it put a very small dent just below the shoulder. I figured bumping the shoulder would take this dent out but it hasn't so far. Should I keep adjusting? Second, i've adjusted down to the point where i'm pretty close but not quite touching the shell plate with the body of the die. Should I keep adjusting?

Need some opinions on what to do...

Shoulder dents are caused by excess case sizing lube about 99.999% of the time.

Keep adjusting down.

Also, inside neck lube before sizing to insure the expander isn't pulling the shoulder back out..

Or color a sized case with a magic or dry erase marker and find out what is relly tight where.

It might be the belt.
