I am finally in a position where I can purchase the hunting rifle that I have wanted for quite a while. Either a used Ruger or a Remington 700. I was curious if anybody new the specs or had an old catalog stating the barrel length of the Ruger m77 mk II chambered in 300 WSM. I am looking at one that is either an 05 or an 06. Any help is much appreciated.

Well I asked the seller, and he told me it has a 23" barrel. I know Ruger didn't make that barrel length so I'm no closer to an answer. I would think though it'd 24" because it would be harder to measure a 22" an inch longer but easier to incorrectly measure a 24" barrel as a 23"

I've only handled 1 Ruger in 300 WSM. While I would not swear to I believe it was 22". Ruger didn't make many before devloping the very similar 300 RCM. After that they dropped the WSM's their lineup.

The good new is that the 300 WSM is a very efficient chambering and does not lose very much from a 22" barrel.

I found this link for one for sale, they list 22"
