.32 h&r magnum absence

I’ll bet you could sell the brass on this or one of the other forums.

I attempted to sell it and some other brass locally this year.

Zero interest. Even selling new Starline brass at half price.

About 4 years ago I gave away about 300 rds of Starline .44 spl and about 250 ea .38 spl & 250 .357 mag mixed brass. All of it once-fired from factory new.

Nobody would buy it! One day I hauled to a competition with Cowboy Action shooters around and I couldn't get $20 for it!

Finally I gave it to the guy who showed the most interest but declined paying. $20.

A couple years I started reloading.

500 pcs of once fired .32 Long isn't worth boxing up & shipping for what someone might pay for it.

32 H&R and 44 Spl are my two favorite cartridges, but both are definitely for reloaders. I cast and reload for both, and if I didn’t I wouldn’t have any interest in them. Commercial loads are just too hard to find.

Primer shortage doesn't help none.

I have revolvers chambered in 32 SWL, 32 H&R Mag, and 327 Fed Mag. I prefer to use brass sized for the chamber in each revolver so I keep any cases I have.

I reload, so ammunition is not a problem as long as components are available.

Over the past decade or so, if I buy a firearm that is chambered in a round that I do not currently reload, I buy a bunch of cases for the gun. Given the current climate, it may take a while to complete the order, but once I have them, I'm good to go for a while.

Actually, I also have a 32 S&W revolver. It is a break top, S&W lemon squeezer revolver and I do not shoot it much. But, again, I have a couple boxes worth of brass on hand for it.

No shortage now, they just cost more.

But even at .08 a primer, .02 for powder, and .08 per bullet, (buying lead / coated bullets) once you have cases that's only .18 per shot or $9 per 50 rds of custom .32 long or mag. Buying .32 Long is over $20 / 50 and .32 mag at least $35 / 50.

It's still saving at least $10 per 50 rds of long and $25 / 50 of mag. Can these guys not do math?

I'm not sure, but I have been planning on buying a 32 H&R Single Six for a couple of years. I lucked into 500 new pieces of Starline brass, 500 bullets, and a set of Hornady dies about a year ago.
I bought the whole lot knowing that some day I would use them.
Last week I finally scored the gun to go with them! I hope to see it here this week.
I hate waiting but I had to go through GB to find it. Ruger SS 32 Mag 5.5 inch barrel.
Can't wait!
So I'm not the only one who buys brass, bullets and/or dies "just in case", which then fosters the legitimate need for another gun? After all, it would be a waste of money not to have something to use with those components!

I can find 327 and 32 long locally but I can't find 32 H and R magnum anywhere except for very few high priced boutique shops.

In it’s 39 year existence, I have always viewed it as a boutique round. If I expect it to be in a small town hardware store, I always pick something much more popular.

If you want to feel good about .32 H&R mag availability,
Buy a gun chambered in its ballistic twin, the .32-20.

I've never seen a shortage so bad you couldn't even find empty brass. I was going to pay $1.50 per round for Nagant ammo just to break them down to reform the brass into .32-20 before I found .32-20 brass available on GunsInternational for the same price.
