I think i am going to buy a 700 XCR 338 RUM is there any reason i shouldnt? Is $680 a good price?
Thanks

Sure

I don't know about the price, but if you're not recoil squeemish I say go for it.
Also, you probably want to handload for that thing. ~$40 per box will get old real quick.

I think 338 RUM is comparable in recoil to my 338 Lapua Magnum. If so, I got one word for you:

muzzlebrake.

Is the 700xcr heavy barreled?

i had a guy quote me 699.99 on here for the XCR in 7mm Rem Mag. + 15 shipping. Sounds like a good price. The Rocky Mtn Elk version XCR was 799.99.

I don't think it is a heavy barrel, i was looking for a sendero but i dont think they make them still.

The XCR is a standard contour barrel. Sendero has been discontinued (or at least is not listed in their current line up). $680 is a very fair price. Just be ready for recoil. ;)

i heard a rumor that remington is bringing the sendero back in '06... don't know if it is true, and really have no way to confirm it, but there's hope...
